tanzan had posted a link about the various fighting styles lightsaberguide.darkjedibrotherhood.com/LightsaberGuide.pdfand due to the fact that i have to wait for parts for my lightsabre, i thought i would pose a question. what is your style, how would your fight your opponent if you were forced to ignite your lightsabre. Myself, i would have to say i would mostly use the attacking style of the form II (makashi) used by darth tyranus (count dooku) and the defencive style of form III (soresu) used by Obi-wan Kenobi (no need to elaborate here..lol). this is what i would use mainly due to the advantageous defence of soresu and also the fencing style of makashi, and its ability to duel well. so tell me what you think guys, just out of random curiosity, what style suits your personality and strengths?

Due to my past in martial arts, gymnastics and acrobatics I would say Form 4, very fluent and lots of spins and twirls etc.

Hmm...hard to say. Probably I'd go along with a mixture of Djem So/Shein, Soresu, and Makashi, forms 5, 3, and 2 respectively. Agressive, yet defensive, and more ready to fight blade to blade.

I did the style quiz once and it said that I was Form V: Shien. Form the meager martial arts background I have, I would go with that assessment. I tend to have the "best defense is a good offense" philosophy.

well I did that quiz and it says I'm a form 7, which to be honest I never saw coming

well I did that quiz and it says I'm a form 7, which to be honest I never saw coming It could be that you use 'inconsistent' or patternless moves, which would lead to a Form VII result. Despite my overall style being firmly Form II, I scored very highly in Form VII, because I switch from Form II to Form III, and that 'switching', leads to the patternless manuevres that are more associated with Form VII, and as a result, it counted more highly than Form III, as I'd have to 'drop into' Form VII to get to Form III.

I was form 2 first, by a very fair margin(92%) and then form 4 sitting at 64%, so im an acrobatic duelist....cool

Took the test. It seems, according to it, that I'm even split on Form 3 and form 6, with form 7 being second, and Shien being at the bottom of my style list. o.o

I train in TaeKwon-Do, which is a Korean martial art emphasizing power, and using blocking as an indirect attack. This translates quite well into Form V.

I studied TaeKwon-Do briefly in College. It was the last MA I studied and while the instructor really liked me and wanted me to continue in his school he kept insisting I was making mistakes in sparring because I would lapse into moves from something else I had studied if it would serve the need. Until, that is, I nearly took his eye out in a brief movement test because he underestimated both my speed and technique....that's when he decided he really wanted me to continue in his school.....alas I had neither funds nor transportation to do so at the time.....now its all just 'Faded Glory'.
