It certainly does look very old I can't imagine the loewr grip would be too comfortable to hold though, was it intended to be used with your costume, or just for your collection?

Tanzan: I wear it with my costume. Actually, the edge of my hand fits just right in between two of the "fins" on the end piece (which is a hot water knob, BTW), and is pretty comfortable. The gap between the end cap and the main shaft of the saber is there also for that reason; it helps my hand fit in there. My fingers actually go around the lower part of the shaft of the saber. I don't think I explained that very well. But, in any case, it actually is practical. I try to make everything practical as much as I can. Good question! Thanks for the kudos, guys. I appreciate it.

that looks brilliant. It reminds me of the NPC sabers from Jedi Outcast. Master Leda was spot on about the weathering; it makes the saber not look like a bunch of parts screwed together (even though thats what most sabers are )

Well, it took a while, but I definitely think it's been worth it. I didn't rush a single aspect of the design or construction, and think this is definitely the best saber I've made yet. I'm especially proud as other than the purchased pieces, it was 100% hand made, from drawing and cutting the templates, to cutting and filing the venting. The emitter discs were individually glued together and then held in place by an internal support and the screws at the side of the vents. As always, thoughts are always welcome. PS The blade is green.

Thanks I had a great time making it (I was actually crouched in my Jedi Robes when I assembled the pieces ) I think the fact that everything was included for a purpose (and would serve a real function) and that the emitter detail was actually a stack of shaped washers rather than a piece of ribbed pipe really added to the feeling of constructing a real saber myself. It handles incredibly It's heavier than it looks because of the internal support mid-hilt for the activator and emitter stack, but it is perfectly balanced, so again, it just adds to the feeling of what a real saber might feel like The lower curve of the hilt allows for Form II precision if wielded one handed, but because the upper grip is straight, it still handles like a straight saber when using two hands

very good and extremely professional looking. i like the blad colour choice, it seems to pull it all together, the only suggestion i can make, and this is just based on personal preference, is to take a wire brush and give it a duller finish, however it is your lightsaber and that is just and idea

That looks great Tanzan, and the blade colour is perfect for it Thanks, Seda Other than my aborted first attempt at a curved saber, all my other ones have had green blades as well very good and extremely professional looking. i like the blad colour choice, it seems to pull it all together, the only suggestion i can make, and this is just based on personal preference, is to take a wire brush and give it a duller finish, however it is your lightsaber and that is just and idea Thanks That's an interesting suggestion I have to admit, I do like them nice and shiny though

I'm kind of partial to shiny saber, myself.
What kind of blade are you putting into it? If you actually are, that is.

Just a CGi one. I prefer to make my sabers for costume use rather than with blades, as I never actually use them for duelling (and that would break an EL blade) and just like to wear them with my costume. If I do ever hold it for a photo, I just rotoscope the blade in after the event
