Nice saber hilt! Show it to us again once you've got the paint job finished.

I decided to undertake something a bit different, one of the ESB Stunt Sabers. Here is a pic of the saber, one of the only pics of this saber: Right now, I am about 80% done, here is the progress as of now: Close UpI have a couple things left: 1 - Fold down the tabs that hold the ears, if opinions agree with that 2 - get a EL/LED socket to hold a blade This is all going to be for show, it is one of those simple weekend projects designed to be fun to look at. Now, to get working on those blasters Dave

My hilt is still in the construction stages, but here is a picture of its progress.

Complete custom design, will be able to use a light up blade.

Wow, that is a really cool effect, Dave! I didn't even know they made the Scothlite tape in that shade of blue.
Where do you get that? Do you have to order it?

TK Lee (Ji Gon Quinn) posted the same technique over on the ASAP forum a while ago. He basically uses the standard tape with theatre lighting sheet over the top to choose the colour. Its amazing how effective this is for camera use. In person it doesnt look all that impressive but under most camera flash conditions it looks as bright as an EL blade easily. Ive been bugging him to make me one for the past 6 months, maybe he'll get it done in time for C3

That's a really nice effect! I'm guessing it would work well for kids on Halloween too, trick or treating and all... nice idea for any sword or weapon for that matter.

Syn-Kai-Jinn, I really really like that new sabre design. It has everything I normally go for in a sabre. The only minor thing I dont like as such is the middle of the 2 brass bits that protrude. Dont get me wrong it looks good, I just wouldnt be able to fight with it with the bass bit there Its placed exactly where I would hold it -lol For some reason I always end up with a sabre that you can fight with, go figure. Even my Fury got modified to reposition that huge control box elsewhere. Is it set up to hold a blade of any type at all ?

Looks pretty cool. Onlything I disliek is that middle part. But otherwise it's awesome.. Any tips on making a real good saber hilt?? Any and all suggestions would be taken under advisory.
