My Lightsaber is a Parksaber Defiance, which I got from Parksabers.com about a year ago. It's modeled after Luke's saber from ESB.

I love the color of your blade Cal... blue, but it's kind of a turquoise blue.

I don't know why I just noticed this particular thread, but here we go! www.thejediassembly.com/members/equip/Vek%20Eldar-LS1.JPGLike Kai, I also used Big Yellow Box Design II, with a few modifications. Everything that I used for this saber was found at either Home Depot or Lowe's. The part that was the biggest pain in the rear to find was the ribbed vinyl flooring that I wrapped around the grip and around the emitter section. The modification that I was most proud of was the faucet knob. I didn't like the 'nodules' or whatever on the pommel, so instead of painting the whole thing black, I spent several hours spray painting the pommel using some really good Krylon paints. The trouble was that I had to redo it five different times because it wasn't just right. The only part that I had to buy on-line was the modified Covertech knob and the belt clip itself, which I got from saberbelt.com. (Thanks Dave!) I hadn't made a saber in five years, so I was really pleased with how this turned out. The only thing that I would change is to figure out some way to get it to hold a stunt blade, so if anyone has any suggestions, lemme know!

Shatir Lavan, as I said in another thread, the photos are rather blurry. But, it looks like you've got a nice saber. Very nice, VekEldar. Of course, I am partial to that style. My saber made of the same BYB tutorial DOES hold a stunt blade. public.fotki.com/Kait/star_wars/lightsaber_collection/newsaber2.html That is an acrylic blade attached. I chose #2 both because I liked the look and because the tube was not obstructed, which allowed me to add the guts to hold the blade. I use these little tube thingys that you find in the lawn sprinkler aisle. They are just the right size to hold the blade (3/4 inch inside diameter). I use the longest one I can find (6 inches) and fasten it to the pommel. It then forms the channel into which I put the blade. That big knob near the emitter end is a thumbscrew that holds the blade in place. public.fotki.com/Kait/star_wars/host/byb_lightsaber_emitter.htmlI'm not particularly mechanically inclined (my degrees are humanities and social sciences). So I just wandered the aisles with a 3/4 inch dowel in hand, testing out what might work to hold it inside the plumbing tube that would become my lightsaber. Sorry, I can't remember exactly how I attached the tubing to the pommel. In general, it's trial-and-error, screws and superglue. I connect a smaller bit to the blade holder, then an even smaller one goes into the faucet knob. I made some photos to show about what I'm talking. Look at this and the next 2 public.fotki.com/Kait/star_wars/host/1.html

Thank you JediKai. My saber's not bad for something made out of $20 worth of plumbing materials with no power tools whatsoever.

It's my own design. I read somewhere about people using plumbing parts to build lightsabers, so I went to Home Depot and got two short pipes of different diameters, an end cap, a fitting to join them, another brass fitting to put near the emitter (inspired by the tsuba on samurai katanas), and a whole bunch of rubber O rings. A bit of screwing into place and electrical taping later, I had a lightsaber.

Good job, Shatir! Yes, it IS possible to make a lightsaber without power tools. My first one was the same public.fotki.com/Kait/star_wars/props/saber1.htmlVery nice sabers, Mon-Jas. I'm particularly partial to the bottom one. Clever, display, as well. I'll have to look around for something like that for our info table.

Nice job Shatir!
Nice use of a wine rack Mon-Jas. I'll have to think about doing that when I get my new saber done.
