Qu Rahn - Rahm Kota comparison... With overhead ceiling lighting and no flash: With overhead ceiling lighting and flash: The Qu Rahn saber is driven at 1000mA, the Kota saber at 700mA. UltraBlade in the Rahn, Do-Clo custom blade in the Kota. ~ Koda

Thanks Coz! Here are some pix of the machined saber, made by Don Close of Do-Clo Custom Sabers. I didn't post them earlier as I wanted to let the sabersmith post the first pix (which he has on his fx-sabers.com forum). You can see the flattened sides in the handle. I designed it that way to allow for the extra thickness of the leather at the twist-crossover points. It came out very close to round cross-section when it was all finished. ;D I also replaced the button-head screws with counter-sunk flat-head screws, and covered that section with lambskin suede. ~ Koda

I thought I showed mine to you at WSMI...
I like yours too, it's super bright and the katana wrapping on the hilt is great!

unfortunatly it has a few flaws for those of use who are profectionests. As a youngling I crafted many of models as did my father who tought me. One thing I learned is that no matter how good others think it looks you will always find flaws in your own work. On this saber I am very happy however the emitter is crooked do to a drill bit that would not grab and the pvc grip could have been sanded better. and insted of plasti dip I used enammel spray pain which is slowly wareing off. but as a display peice it looks great next to my katana.

I made a Luke like hilt out of aluminum. It took me about three hours to cut. Its pretty rough not as polished as i wanted it but i ran out of time. Its my first try but i thought it was pretty good. [/img]http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=823731&l=e96b9&id=661844827

Does any one know what happened to the Do-Clo Custom Sabers, I tried to access the site but it seems to be down. I have a Obi-wan FX Saber, and my wife has the Mara Jade Lightsaber.
