What kind of glue works best to hold metal parts to the plastic razor? And what brand of paint did you use? I recently spray painted some plastic with a metallic silver paint and it didn't turn out too well...

I used this ultra super glue that nail technicians in salons use to hold faux nails to women's underlying nails. You can find them in bulk at a nails supply store. As for the paint - it's all a part of the pains of creating your own props.

From my reading it seems that for plastics you need to rough up the surface with sandpaper first to give the paint more surface to hold onto. Then apply a few thin coats to build up a nice even coat.
but I have yet to do it myself........

Not really, well it also depends on the kind of paint you wanna use. I prime my plastic with some primer or sand it with some very mild sand paper. But a nice coat or clear or laquer is always a good thing. Glossy or mate, depends on the FX u want

Acting like Anakin in real life? I don't even know what that's supposed to be accusing me of. But you're right about one point - I didn't quite answer your question. I used automotive paint that you can purchase from Kragen.

Traelyn, painting is always an issue ( on plastic ) If you dont plan to make too many modifications on you base ( The razor ) a mate plastic paint should work well. But to make it more durable, at least 2 coats of clear, apply you should. But make sure to take the same brand of paint and clear. Some time, 2 different brands could do pretty bad thing on your final result.

I have a question regarding the com-links sense I plan on building one soon, do you guys put it in a pouch or does it somehow clip to the belt.

In the film, they seemed to have it in a pouch so that's what I do with mine. I have seen photos of costumers wearing it on a belt clip, though.
