Oh yeah and also Mace Windu tested Anakins skills with the force in EP I in front of the council when he played images of ships, cups, and speeders with his own datapad.

Humm it loosk like I'd have to craft one myself. or snag something that looks as clsoe as possbily and modify it. It reminds me of the first game gear.

Actually, it's looking more like a PSP. Check out the caption on the Sith Snapshot...PSPs play UMD movies. But financially, a PSP isn't prudent.

maybe the datapad is different based on the company or person that made it, maybe they are custom

That's possible. I have to see a PSP and it side by side.

I don't know if I could see myself carrying that prop. When I think of datapad, the first thing that jumps into my mind is Wesley Crusher. He was always wakling around the Enterprise carrying a datapad.
Sorry for switching from Star Wars to Star Trek... it's just the first thing that comes to mind.

Here's a PSP: Similar? eh, not really. The datapad looks more like one of those handheld games you pick up in TRU or at the pharmacy for 10 bucks. Like poker, or solitaire or something... Tiger made them... and there was Coleco, Casio... etc. A 1980's pocket arcade. They probably picked it up in someone's cast-off toy box at a yard sale!

Actually, that object is Obi-Wan's Viewscreen, as pictured in the RotS Visual Dictionary. Now if you can just find a handheld game that looks like that...

I am not certain what is the difference between a "viewscreen" and a "datapad" or if datapad was anyway used in the story... but I know we can't always trust the words printed in the visual dictionary.

but I know we can't always trust the words printed in the visual dictionary. Very true... hey, aren't I always the one saying that?
