A blaster/lightsber could be difficult to use. How would you grip it as a lightsaber? The two are held completely differently Captain Dylan Hunt of the Andromeda uses a lightsaber-looking blaster with great ease and efficiency. It also extends to become a full-length lance.
I like the sound of that. A double-ended saber: one end emits a blade and the other end is a blaster.

Karm loves Kapowwee toys. He's gotten several guns from there.
Love the official Marshy blaster. Gotta get one!

Ahh the force lance. :-)I've been eyeing one of those. From how it looks in it's retracted form, it looks like a lightsaber hilt.:-) Nice dual use prop ey? HighGuard and jedi.

the reason I mentioned the blaster/saber thing is that I recall seeing one used in a Fan Film I have on disc somewhere............ And I really like the Force Lance from Andromeda. Keyed to users DNA. functions as a blaster or melee weapon, or portable power source if needed. can be set to lay down automatic cover fire on a rotating sequence as well.

As for putting a sabre in the barrel of a blaster, it could be done kind of like Squall's "Gunblade" in Final Fantasy VIII. Just incase you don't know anything about Final Fantasy VIII, i15.ebayimg.com/01/i/04/15/0e/4b_1_b.JPGjust, more or less, held like a gun, blade coming out of the "barrel" Always wondered how that thing functioned as a gun. I don't see a barrel for bullets to come out of...and the blade materialise out ofthin air and become a solid piece?

This guy got on pretty well with a combination blaster/lightsaber Captain Dylan Hunt of the Andromeda uses a lightsaber-looking blaster with great ease and efficiency. It also extends to become a full-length lance.

Commonwealth ForceLances are pretty much the ultimate sci-fi weapon. They're far superior to Federation phasers in terms of programability and functionality, especially as they can be used as a fighting staff even if the power cell is depleted, which is what puts it above a lightsaber, which although capable of deflecting ForceLance energy rounds, still requires power to operate, but the ForceLance does not. Always wondered how that thing functioned as a gun. I don't see a barrel for bullets to come out of...and the blade materialise out ofthin air and become a solid piece? The barrel is bored through the back edge of a gunblade's blade. (would greatly reduce the strength of the blade in practical terms )
