;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Greetings, Here is a couple photo's of my new jedi comlink, and it only took me 5 years to get it off my work bench. Funny thing, I always looked at it but never did anything with it. Now it's complete. So what do ya think? ;DJedidad ;D "MTFBWY".....A

Nice... I like the finish. Very smooth! What did you fill in the back with?

The razor is now vulnerable to water... the transition from real world item to costume prop is complete ;D Very nice job, it looks brilliant.

I guess I should break down and make one some day, especially since I have one of the coveted hard razors without the rubber grips.
And I was just at Lowe's yesterday. I wish I had thought of looking for some greeblies for it!

That IS nice looking Jedi Dad. I really like how each comlink has it's own look and charactor. No two are alike.

I like how he put the bumpers on the back before he painted it, so it would lie flat, with that one greeblie on the back.
I may have to steal a few of his ideas for mine!

Jedi Dad, What did you use for the Antennea" on it? And where did you find them? I've used whatever dodad was in the bottom of the tool box and repainted it.:-D

On mine, I used the peg thiings a shelf sits in that are adjustable in the build-your-own-bookshelf style kits by Sauder Furniture or whatever kind is in your area.

Greetings to all,
The best thing to do is take your razor to the hardware store with you and try everything on for size. On mine , the back has 4 small clear rubber bumpers, 2 small cylinder shape rubber bumpers, 1 washer with locking tabs off a electronic light fixture, or maybe my wifes old curling iron part, told you I did not throw anything away. Also 1 vandal proof screw head, and 1 really thin washer with 3 holes in it. There is one under the screw head also that is bigger. Now on the front are 2 small chrome acorn nuts, the middle top piece is a shelf support, but I removed the peg part and used a small washer for the base next to the razor instead of the rest of the shelf bracket. The silver part on the front is a plastic sink nob filler cap that hides the nut that holds the kitchen nob on. I sanded down all the edges so it would sit flush. The antenna's are just pop rivets. Just find the size that fits what you want yours to look like. Lastly, the little switch looking thing at the top front is a small black part that came from something I had saved some time ago. I hope that this helps answer any questions. As far as for paint, I painted 1 coat primer, 3 coats flat black, 3 coats gloss clear. With 1/2 hour dry time between each coat. I really wanted satin finish clear but was unable to find any.But I like the look of it any way.

I have one of the coveted hard Gillette razors that I bought, and used back in the late 80s, early 90s, I'm not exactly sure when.
I don't really know if it's coveted, but I like to think so, since they are more rare and you can't get them anymore.
I was just noticing that the wavy pattern on the grip area is a little different than the ones with the rubber grips.
And I had forgotten that the middle part was transluscent. It's a sparkly, glittery pinkish-red color.
When I replaced my windshield wipers recently with universal kits, I looked at some unneeded pins in the kits and immediately thought, "these would make some great 'antenna' for my Jedi Comlink!"
I'm going to cut off the bottom "protrusions" for easier insertion into the razor body.
Now I need a few more greeblies and some paint. I'm thinking of a black and gold scheme for that.
(I need to clean off the old soap scum before I paint it. )
