I have a set of 4, others wear 8, and I've seen tutorials illustrating 16! In my opion that way too many! Two on one side and two on the other would work, but as a rule, I would say do what works for you, but stick to even numbers. I've never seen anyone wearing just one.

But ask your question again in one of the food capsule threads, I'm sure others have different opinions they could share.

For what it is worth ... Of the 3 Jedi are seen carrying food pellet capsules in Episode I.

Qui-Gon : 12 silver
Obi-Wan : 8 gold and 4 silver
Anakin : 3 gold, 3 copper, and 3 silver

So to that end, I carry 12 Silver my wife has 6 silver 6 gold and my boys each have 4 silver 4 gold
