It looks cool dad! I agree with Mynn about switches - didn't the one Quigon use - he basically just touched the thing and it came on? I don't see a switch as we know it on there...

Rather then a bubble gum tape dispenser, like what I was thinking of originally, I've found what I think I'll use as a holoprojector base. It's a mint tin for "Monster Mints". It's round, palm sized and has flattened domes top and bottom.
With some paint, and a few intersting "greeblies", it has possiblities. I think I'll keep it fairly simple so as not to overwhelm it.
I like the mints, they remind me of Altoids, but of course, being the geek that I am, I got it because I like the shape of the tin.
Now I have to take my mint tin and comlink razor with me to Lowe's to try on parts for size.
Wonder if I'll get any strange looks?

Monster Mints? Humm Cool. Can you snag a tin of them for me? I'd like to try the mints. Altoids rock but sadly the tins can't be used for props, maybe for storing beads.

Yes, I could get you one, Mynn. It cost about $4 though. Overpriced, in my view. When I get my computer back from repair, I'll take pic of the tin with my crummy web cam.
I actually saw them when I was at CompUSA paying for my computer to get fixed. I can't get online with it (gives me a "Phone line is busy" error, and I know it's not, since my phone works on the line and I had the same problem on my mom's phone line) and I've tried everything I knew how to do.
Spent lots of time on the phone with Tech Support for my ISP, opened up the case, blew it out inside, reseated the modem card. Then bought a new modem card, nothing worked. I am at a loss and had to take it in for repair. Thank goodness my mom has a computer now!

$4 for mints? Shhee. I agree with ya' that IS overly priced for mints. They must wrap them in vintage silk. :-D Do they taste that good? I can reimburse you for them. I'd no clue they'd cost that much. I hope they repair your computer quickly and it'd work right afterwords.

Hey all, I know this sounds kinda strange maybe, but I go to the cosmetic department with my wife and daughter fequently and Iv'e been noticing the compact make-up cases every time I'm in that department. Everytime my daughter and I are there, we pretend to use them to talk with each other, The people probably think were crazy, maybe. What do think of using something along that line of case? Maybe room for some flashing lights when you open it? Just a thought. You know when your hooked as a prop builder is when everything in life looks like it could be something it's not.

Yes, Plo, those are the mints I was talking about.
They are probably over priced because I got them at CompUSA. If I could find then at say, Walmart, they'd probably be half that price.
I was thinking of putting something over the top part where it has the symbol, when using it for a holoprojector.

I too have noticed the compact cases and thought about it....but they run a bit much....and it would take my wife too long to use it up.
I have also seen a car air freshener that looks very nice almost as it is......a bit smallish i think, but I might give it a try since I can at least use it in the car.
