They look nice!
How did you make the holoprojector? I've finally got some primer that will stick to the comlink I'm working on and now I just have to add the extras. I hadn't thought about dooing a holoprojector, but that would be cool.

the holo proj was made from several random parts...the outer rings/main frame of it are just some rings from plumbing dept. at home depot. the blue part is a blue reflector....also, on the back, the inner circle is another reflector painted black. the gold grate is from a broken hair dryer that my wife was going to throw away.... I'll see if i still have some of the extra parts laying around. I'll take some pics.
on the back of the communicator, (the women's razor) I used elmer's glue in layers to make it smooth, instead of that rubber grip that it comes with.

Hmmm, the gold grate I think is what makes the holoprojector look nice. And the blue reflector is just the right color. Good idea! I'll have to look for something like that, though the grate could be tricky. Still you can do an awful lot with gold paint and left over lightsaber plumbing parts.
I'm still tinkering with my comlink. After a big paint disaster, I've found that gray primer (gray enamel paint) will stick to it, if you let it dry for a week. I should be able to painit it silver now and attach all the other little bits. Did you screw on any of those parts on the comlink, or just use glue. And what kind of glue worked best?

Interestingly enough, for adhesive I have found Barg cement works excellent for comlinks and other projects. Barg cement can be purchased either through a local cobbler or a leather store like Tandy. It is sort of a rubber cement but gets stronger with age. It works well with many different types of materials, especially rubber and plastics. It also stays pliable which is a benefit on certain prop projects. Pliability keeps a piece from popping off when bumped or dropped. It is only a slight pliability so you needn't worry about it making the parts move too much. They don't move at all once dry. For hard plastics a model cement works well, also an Epoxy and of course super glue. Like the right tool for the right job you need the right adhesive for the right materials. Good luck...........

Nice work.:-) I used Barg glue to, but found it's not a good space filler cuz it'll soften adn weaken the plastic. Now Hot glue or some manner of putty is great to fill the sapce were the razor assembly's guts used to be.
