I was just reading the imdb trivia for TPM after watching the movie(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120915/trivia), and I found out Qui Gon's communicator is made from a Gillette sensor excel for women, which is the exact same razor that my mother uses!
I was just wondering what parts I would need to fully convert it, and where to find them?

Yeah, but try finding one of the older ones that doesn't have the rubbery grip!
I have one that I'm hanging onto (I was the original user of it back in the early 90s) They take paint much better with the hard grip.
You're a little slow at finding out something that has been know for nearly 6 years! lol I recognized that part right away!
I guess it was easier for women to figure out what that main part was!

I'm in the process of building my first communicator. Unfortunately I had to settle for the ladies Sensor razor with the rubber grip. I couldn't find the bits that go on it that are screen accurate, so I settled for little greebles I found in the "nuts and bolts" section of my local hardware store. Various washers and things called "E-clips" (taking a tip from JediKai's tutorial- thanks Kai . The main antenna is going to be a brass bookcase shelf holder. I'll get some pics up when I can.

Loreen... Granted women caught it right away...however...I want to know what the prop maker was doing when he decided to use it. Standing in the shower, looks down, picks it up...thinks for a moment. "Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi." Wife walks in, "What are you doing?" "Can I borrow this?"

I didn't know what the prop was made from at first.... Now when I watch the movies all I see is the Jedi speaking into a lady's shaver!

what makes you think all propmakers in the EpI were males? Well the master prop guy was the one I was referring to, the main team was shown when they present Ewan with his lightsaber...wasn;t a sexist remark, merely an observation. I've never seen a prop master woman in any Star Wars reference. That aside...

in the same DVD feature where Ewan picks out his lightsaber it talks about the female prop artists, and one of them remarks about how shes making "toy guns", or something along those lines

Not sure if anyone's looking for that particular Gilette lady shaver, but I heard its rather hard to find now in most places because it's no longer in production...
Reason I'm writing this is coz I can still find some around my more-outer-rim-then-outer-rim little town, so if anyone wants one let me know. They're going for around US$4.50 each, but it'll take at least another US$4 - 5 to get it shipped to the US of A.
PM me if you're desperately seeking a lady shaver.
