I wanted to know from those who have made Comlink props, how do you paint the rubber grip part of the razors? Spraypaint didn't work... after a day of drying time, it was still wet to the touch - is there another paint you use?

that looks great I only had a coat of primer then the silver paint, but it stil was wet after many hours of drying. must just be the silver paint. after that I tried to remove the paint from the rubber, and ended up destroying it I found out that the razors used to be made with hard plastic grips instead of the soft rubber grips... so I'm trying to get one of those off ebay. I took off the damaged rubber and I'm going to try to figure something else out for the midsection... good thing it only cost me $3

I've not had that problem before on comlinks, but on other things. Sometimes it depends on the type of paint your are using.
On mine, I use Krylon Ultra Flat Black as a primer, and do the details with metallic acryllics. Then two coats of Krylon Matte Finish.
On the related subject of removing unwanted paint, I use a product called "Goof Off". It's for removing paints and so forth, and doesn't harm the plastic or rubber on those razors, I have used it on them. Be warned though: it isn't for ALL plastics...some types of plastic, mor porous types (such as a CD case is made from)...it will "eat" these. Usually, best to test such as solvent on a very small area of the surface.

lol, i just used some cheap spraypaint from a dollar store here so i was surprised at the out come.
your best bet with spray paint is the krylon brand as kaiRhann mentioned. it is all i used when i would do minor paint work on some of my hot rods.
