Now the newbish-ness comes out. Please, someone explain Chicago Screws. (what are they, how do they differ from regular screws, where to get them, etc.)

Chicago screws are also called screw posts. You can buy them at Tandy Leather. People often use them like removable rivets.

A good replacement (though not canon) clip is the one being used now by RandomSabers. They ran out of the Covertec and have substituted the large Krusell clip in it's place.... I have one of these for my PDA case (also from Krusell) and it is sturdy. The front of the clip is metal and had a spring plate that holds the case/saber on/in to release it you just push on two side tabs and lift up...much like the Covertec looks. it attaches to the belt by a leather strap that wraps around the back of the belt and secures to the top front of the clip with two sturdy snaps....it ain't easy to get on of off so your saber should be rather secure..... Where can I find these?

Wow, that's a good question. I tried doing a Google search and kept coming up with these:
Not the same thing as in the above pic.

Not sold in the US? DARNIT! Guess I can't have a completely canon costume, then. Why can' t I just buy online? I wouldn't use a credit card if it was the only way to buy stuff!

Hmm, I went to that mobilecityonline site, that's where my posted pic if from and didn't see those. Guess I didn't look around enough at that site.
Or you really are just lucky!
That's a cool adapter kit. Those really do look a lot like Covertecs!
