I used Amazing Goop. It held it through Icon and CIII and is still sticking. I thought about the rivet, but I found it too difficult to even think about drilling a hole into the back of the clip. There is no existing hole there already.

Sorry for my confusion Master, do you mean button or the clip. I drilled a hole in the tongue of my clip, secured it to my belt with a Chicago Screw, that way the clip does not fall off with the sabre attached ... worked well so far.

Mon-Jas, I'm glad you mentioned that... that's the problem I have with the covertec clip.... it pops off of my belt sometimes when I sit down. The clip just doesn't grip tight enough.
I recently took off the d-ring from my saber and added a covertec to make it more "PT canon".

If I knew how to use a drill, I probably would drill a hoile into the clip and all. Just last weekend the glue was starting to get a bit loose. Not bad though. No complaints! As for the food capsules, try tape on the inside of your belt. primrodo has a pic of Anakin's belt that has tape holding the food capsules in place.

Well I recently bought a new Obi-Wan ANH style saber ( not weathered) and it has the D-ring, so I figured I'd make the one I wear look more like Obi's from RotS.

I bumped this thread back up because I just found this place on the net. (I'm always Googleing for something and finding stuff I didnt expect or search for.) www.ipaqcases.com/cobc.htmTheir not cheap, but if all else fails, besides, these are cheaper then importing them from the UK.

Even my pouches are held on with Chicago Screws. Now if I can figure how to secure the food capsules if you don't want them to be individual you could glue them together as a unit....that way they would stay upright and together since there would essentially be 4 to 6 clips working in unison to hold them on.......just a thought.

A good replacement (though not canon) clip is the one being used now by RandomSabers. They ran out of the Covertec and have substituted the large Krusell clip in it's place.... I have one of these for my PDA case (also from Krusell) and it is sturdy. The front of the clip is metal and had a spring plate that holds the case/saber on/in to release it you just push on two side tabs and lift up...much like the Covertec looks. it attaches to the belt by a leather strap that wraps around the back of the belt and secures to the top front of the clip with two sturdy snaps....it ain't easy to get on of off so your saber should be rather secure.....

Look out; here comes another stupid question! How on earth do these Covertech thingies WORK??? How does the round thing clip into the rectangle thing? And I don't have a credit card or a debit card. Is there any place to get them besides online? Like a pager/cell phone store? If not, then no way am I going to be able to make a PT canon lightsaber. I'll have to make one with a D-ring.

The recepticle has a slot for the knob; it also has thingys on each side to press to allow the knob into the recepticle. It would be closer to canon to just use any other cell phone clip than a D-ring.
I've never seen covertec sold in stores here in USA, Washington State or in California years ago.

From my research ... Covertech Clips are no longer retailed in the US ...
