Just had let everyone know that I wore my costume to take my kids trick-or-treating tonight. I was the ONLY Jedi in the entire town, adult or otherwise. It so cool, and kinda funny in way.
Everyone was saying that they loved my costume and asking where I got it. They couldn't believe that it was hand made. The older folks just looked at me funny, and asked what I was supposed to be. When I told them I was a Jedi, they asked "what's that?"
I even entered the annual costume contest, and took 3rd in the adult bracket. I got beat out by a couple (husband & wife) in roman costumes who got 2nd and a lady dressed as an old man who got first.
Thought it would be weird wearing it in public, but it felt good.

I think I only wore my Beru costume for fifteen minutes to take pictures with my nephew. I just about boiled in that sweater, but it was fun. I'll get the puictures up when I can.
Other than that, me, my dad, and my brother all went over to the church for their annual tradition of making peanut brittle. It was fun!

cobalt60: very nice costumes and cute photos of the little ones! Grannywan: good idea about the cards. Never thought of that! Thanthos: I've seen that one before. It's a classic. JediMom: can't see the photos as it wants a log-on I was too tired last night to post or upload the photos. I had about 100 kids come to the door. It was disappointing how bad the costumes were. There were just a couple clever home made ones, a lot of boring commercial ones and an irritating number of kids who wore no costume at all and just came with a pillow case to beg candy. The theme for the porch decor was Star Wars, of course. I had more SW costumes than usual but all were commercial ones: Vader, Clone Trooper, Jango, Anakin and one kid in a sweatshirt carrying a toy lightsaber. They all got SW stickers in addition to candy. I was dressed as Jedi (of course) with my new EL Parks QV lightsaber. The robotic R2D2 was stationed on the sidewalk in "room guard" mode to sound off l when anyone walked up. I hid behind the alcove (and the Qui-Gon standee) to jump out and scare them. I startled a number of adults, too. Hee hee. My neighbor and the friend with him both wanted the info on Parks as they thought they'd want to order a lightsaber. They had 2 of the kids in SW costumes. public.fotki.com/Kait/star_wars/halloween/

Here's my pictures: Here he is, folks; Mini-Luke Skywalker! With the lightsaber I made him Kid's gonna go for the droid... My sister's fairy costume Me and my favorite nephew Even Artoo got into the act! ACK! When I tried to resize them, they stayed that way! How do I get the thumbnails in the screen and keep the big ones in the album?

Hey everyone sorry for not posting much lately- been busy with other projects. Everyone's costumes look great! LOVE the pumpkin Master Tanthos- first time seeing that one! Here's how I went out for Halloween: (not Star Wars related though ): This is my latest costume- the Future War soldier from Terminator 2. That's my step-daughter Lyndsy with me dressed as Cupid (and bending down pretending not to be a lot taller than me. She even took her shoes off God bless her ;D ).

GREAT pictures, all! [Kevin, I think I passed you in one of the tunnels at Dragon*Con on Sunday. You (or else your twin) were in the Starfleet "Monster Maroon", and I said something like, "looking sharp." I wasn't in costume that day.] Tuesday I went to the local mall with my co-worker's family, and he snapped this -- not a great pic, but fun anyway: "Lego Vader" -- yes, it is entirely made of Legos, except the saber blade. Later that night I had a similar experience to Koda's last year with the miniature Darth Maul. There was a family with all sorts of SW costumes and they all wanted their picture with me EXCEPT Darth Vader. He was scared to death and kept running away when his mom wanted him to pose with me.
