I made my belt from scratch.
For the buckle, I got a few pieces of rectangular shaped metal plates cut, then I rounded off the corners with a grinder, and then bend it by hammering it over a 4” lead pipe, and then bent a U shape from a thick wire and welded it onto the back of the buckle together with two 4” nails, which were later cut to length and had their edges rounded off. It ain’t pretty, but it works.
The front of the buckle was then sanded down by rolling a small piece of sandpaper onto the sanding bit of a mini grinder. It has since rusted a bit naturally and I thought it look rather good so I left it as it is
Next I bought a piece of 3” X 40” leather, plus a few screwed-together fastening studs, and walah! I have my Jedi belt.
The four multi-colored food capsules on the left were purchased while the four gold colored food capsules on the right were scratch built from Pilot Pen caps and capped with semi-sphere buttons, then sprayed and lacquered. The large pouch in the centre is an old one I’ve had for ages, and is worn and weathered through real, prolonged use. The short, slim pouch on the right is my hand phone pouch, and the long, slim twin pouch on the left is a store bought ammo magazine pouch.

nice job.
yes, you CAN do it yourself. I let the prequel Jedi belt intimidate me for years. Than I really studied it in the visual dictionary and decided I could make it...and did.

where did you find the wide belt material? I just went to a shop that sells raw leather, rummaged through their piles of various size and thickness leather sheets until I found one long enough and wide enough, paid, took it home and cut it myself with a blade...

Plo Strax-Avix your belt and such, look great! ;D Thanks for the compliment ;D
I'm in the outer-outer rim so I have to make do with whatever I can find, very much like what young Ani and young Luke had to do on tatooine...

Love that buckle! Great job! Thanks! Maybe I'll make a few more and put some studs in the middle to make them look more like the other OT buckles...[/b]

I'm in the outer-outer rim so I have to make do with whatever I can findHeh I know just how you feel! And that belt looks great, the buckle especially. Did you do the weathering intentionally? I think it looks fantastic, you should weather the rest of the belt as well. It'd be nice to see a Jedi that doesnt look like they've come straight from the dry cleaners ;D Although I'm guilty of it myself

It'd be nice to see a Jedi that doesnt look like they've come straight from the dry cleaners ;D Although I'm guilty of it myself The 'weathering' on the buckle is actually due to a lack of proper equipment to smooth out the metal after I pounded it with a hammer and sanded it down with rough grade sandpaper because it was so badly rusted to begin with. Then it started to rust again when I was wearing it during the EP3 premier week, and I thought it look rather good, so I just left it as it is... ;D
I don't think I wanna weather the belt just now...its made of a rather soft leather and is quite thin, so I'm worried that weathering it can make it prone to tearing or ripping...I actually wanted to get it lined, but it just costs too much. If I manage to get it lined at a reasonable price then I'll definitely weather it...
Any good suggestion on how to weather my new pouches?

Sandpaper and water are usually good for weatghering, you can also use a few paints to build up any dirt look you want as well.

I agree - you could simply add some paint and be done with it, if your scared to make it fragile by sanding

I'm just wondering what he's going to carry in the double magazine pouch.
