Remember loading film into cameras and having to "advance" the film. No automatic cameras! Remember the individual flash cubes? When every other person on the street didn't have a phone growing out of their ear?

Polorids. Wow. People still use those for certain events and such. Remember shaking them to make them develope faster? How about the Kodak Disck cameras? I still have some disk negatives. BCP people showed up on time for stuff. Either that or you waited and didn't panic or grip if you had to wait more than 10 minutes. Remember corded phones that wound back on themselves? When you said you were on the phone you were "on the phone!" No call waiting.

Remember Polaroid "instant" cameras? And getting up to change the channel - or at least using the kids as "remote controls"? The kids in our current neighborhood are actually still pretty outdoorsy. Lots of street hockey or football, swimming at the house of the lucky kid with the pool. They do this neat thing every summer - on the last day of school they have a huge game of hide and seek around the subdivision, with every kid in the neighborhood. The older kids kind of grow out of it, but the younger kids keep it going. Not bad for the video game generation. Oh, and who had Pong? My mom had to have one. She's a natural gamer from way back when! -Lala

I had Pong. That's all I had. Bink...bink... bink....... Pong was good! I was the youngest kid. lol! Now I toss pillows at my youngest nephew and say "go get the remote!" Old traditions die hard.

I gotta get into these threads more often.... I remember we NEVER had soda except once in a while on a Sunday afternoon....mom would make popcorn on the stove and us 5 kids would split a quart of generic soda (that came in glass-of course). I also remember some of my Aunt's and Uncle's homes that did not have indoor plumbing....we used the outhouse....always fun in the middle of the night....on the farm...with no lights... and... we were talking about old costumes past at the MWB of the RL and I dug this one up.... My Martian costume... I just turned 19... My boyfriend Don in the photo left for boot camp shortly afterward....this was the Vietnam era... Great costume eh......lol....
