You mean like actually going outside and playing in the yard instead of playing videogames?
My Star Trek phaser was just a forked stick....

Remember when if you wanted to watch a TV show or movie, you HAD to be there at the time it was aired to see it? No taping, no DVDs?

Remember when you had to pop popcorn ona stove also? No microwaves... or microwaves were like $700. (The Amana Radarange)
I still think stove-top-popped popcorn tastes the best

And VCRs were about $600! Ani, I remember when my husband started selling VCRs at his store in 1983 or 1984 and I asked him why anyone would want one... (!?!)
Jiffy Pop... Jiffy Pop....

I used to make a bow and arrow with binding string. I always wanted to be the Indian.... Me too! In fact, that was my very first costume! It was a pillowcase, dyed in mud at Scouts, that we decorated with crayons and then ironed to "set" the design. We cut opening sfor the head and arms and then cut fringe at the wide hem. (I need to see if I can dig up that pic!) Then my sweet grandmother made me a better costume (after I outgrew the first) from a design I found in an "Indian Crafts and Lore" book by Ben Hunt. Remember those books? Every time I go in Tandy it's deja-vu-all-over-again with the beads and "eagle" feathers and "bear claws" and stuff. I would have loved to get my hands on that stuff back then! Hmmm.... looking back, I've been a tomboy my whole life....

Remember when Moms used to yell out the back door that supper was ready? As us kids got older and better with telling time, we knew just what order which kids had to leave to go in and eat. Haven't heard a Mom do that for over 15 years, since I moved back to civilization from a small farm town. For that matter, kids don't seem to play outside together on the block any more. We didn't have (and didn't need) organized, scheduled activities every hour of the day. I think the block favorites were obstacle courses on foot or on bike, and taunting the bats at dusk. I grew up where there were detached, one story one car garages, and we spent a lot of time throwing a ball over the roof ridge and hoping the kid on the other side would catch it. Fun times!

Oh yes I remember that. Games of "Kick the Can" or "Ghost in the Graveyard".
I think a lot has to do with the fact that so many homes nowadays are two income. No parent is home with the kids in a lot of homes and there are so many threats in the world. Child molestors are much more prevalent, but keeping kids at home isn't safe either. Computers can link them just as easily to a predator as playing out in the yard

Families sat down at the dinner table & ate as a family.
Black & white 13 inch tv screens with only a few channels & 1 of the shows was Howdy Doody.
Then Mickey Mouse Club, Walt Disney Presents, etc.
Children went to school respected & "listened" to their teachers without arguing with them.
My mom made my Halloween costumes & a group of us with my mom went Trick n Treatn for 2 days because it was safe back then.
Sunday all the stores were closed & families went to Church, you came home & did things with the family--back then mine was huge.
