Nice belt and sabre. Looks like the one I made. Those little narrow belt keeper items on either side of the buckle gave me fits. I dented 7 sets of flat rivets . patience and perseverance I got it.:-D
Mine's a latigo color. Now I knwo how to construct it, I cna tackle another one and dye it brown.. Man that's so much fun building this stuff.

Thanks Xana and Leda! I love it, however there was a few details that are off so I sold it and am getting another Thanks too Jauhzmynn, though the saber is Saberbelts, part of his trainers with some modification from me. Actually We found the proper (like 99% accurate) rivits now, Saber Belt has them for sale, but all you do is screw them in. No hammering, no denting You should give them a try!

I have a question......... where did LFL get their rivets from? Do we know? Like we know where they got the food capsuls from and the bits of plastic that go on the ends.

Its a mystery yet. However there is some real good reference. Daves match teh reference is not for size. Thegeneral disgn is there I mean. Straight neck, semi flat head, screw in, etc. What may be differnt is the head size or some such. Personally I think Dave stumbled on the same part, just like his anakin buckles are, and I sincerely mean this, 100% accurate to Anakin's in AOTC and Ep3 (And Mace's Ep2/Ep3) Its a matter of trial and error and REALLY good pics I'd really like to know Obi-Wan's buckle source to be honest

after doing some checking and looking at all pictures available, i found the socalled rivets at my leather store DKG leather. they are also at Tandy. they are called Sam Brown Belt Studs. the body is cylindrical and the top semi round. they also screw in from the bottom. i believe they are the same offered by Saberbelts. if you punch the holes right where the outer belt is lying on the inner one, they hold the inner belf securely. i have had no problems in making any of the other belts i made for others. anakins belt is unique because of the little lines that edge the belt. this can be duplicated with a rolling cutter or even a pizza cutter, be careful not to go to far into the belt. my leather guy is pretty cool. he flensed [thinning the leather from behind] my keepers and the used a big stapler to make them for me. best part is he charged me NOTHING to do this. cool eh? the food caps were easy to make. my sister found them at the 99 cent store. i bought all they had and made about 10 sets, i kept 2 and gave the others away to friends...right Mynn? i used round pearl buttons to fill the pen ends. the are much eaiser to secure that the semiround buttons. if anyone has any questions, let me know.

They aren't the same, but you really can't tell the difference by looking at them straight on. (Uh oh,, I'm cross posting........ someone yell at me........ ) Anyway, go read the rivets thread for more info. I have seen saberbelt's rivets and they are a bit smaller than the Sam Brown buttons. Personally, I think it makes no real difference which ones you use. And since we don't know where LFL got their rivets from, it's all guess work. Or do we know? As for Obi-Wan's buckle, Mynn said something once about them being off of loafers or something.

I know I shouldn't post it here, but since Xana did... I made my OWK buckle. We have a machine shop at work. I grabbed a piece of scrap aluminum and did it a little at a time. Took a while. But it's done. Trying to post pics of all my stuff. Don't know how. Soon though.

Xana, I think it was a Gocchi POurse but I'm not toop sure.
Primrodo, My belt has two types of rivits. FLAT rivits which are used to secure the narrow verticle strips of leather that go around the narrow horizontal strips. These have to be hammered. It's those I'd dented 7 sets before getting the belt keeper secured. I had a small anvil(for snap setting it's the right part BTW.) But I'd prefer a rivit setter that's a hand held device.Looks like a very scary looking ear pericing item.
Sencond types , are the Sam Browne screw backs.
Dave's Anikan buckles rock,I LIKE those, I think I make grab four or five off him. Funny as it seems, that looks good on a female's belt.
The Visual dictionary has some good pics of his buckle, but I'm not gonna go buy that gocchi purse just to get the buckle off. Too exspensive, I will got scrounging at the thrift store. They may have a Gocchi purse that's sued with the right buckle.;-) If I score one, who wants the buckle?

you guys are correct....those are not sam browne belt studs. [see the pic under rivets] i originally bought both kinds, but i liked the screw type better. because if you mess up you can unscrew them and start over. i give up on what they are called.
