Remember the gas lines in the 70's.....odd and even license plate days.
the LINES at the theater for the original releases of ESB and ROTJ?
and my favorite fast food franchise: Taco Bell had their extra large soda The Paul Bunyan
on the TV/Cartoon side: The Banana Splits? Checkers and Pogo? Have Gun Will Travel? or (and I dread typing this name)....WOnderama with Bob Mcallister? (DARN!! Now that silly "popcorn" song is playing in my head **Tenric slams head into nearest wall**) 'NOOOOOOOOOoooooooooo!'

Remember when almost every channel or at least every city had an afternoon cartoon show with a local host and they maybe ran contests and stuff too? Our local was Dayton-based "Clubhouse 22". (Were you arund then, Jaii?) My Brownie Troop was on the show once and I got to be on "Pick-a-Door" where kids could send in entries and then geta prize behind whatever door they chose. And of course lots of cartoons
And also local "Horror Movie" shows on TV.. again like above only showing B-grade movies like "Gargoyles" or "Them!"? Again ours was "Shock Theatre" out of Dayton with Dr. Creep

I am sooo excited that I just found the DVD of "Summer Holiday" a typical teen flick from 1964 or 1965.. It stars Cliff Richard...now Sir Cliff.....one of the many acts of the British invasion at the time of the Beatles... I bought two....one for my older sister who was a BIG Cliff Richard fan...and.. of course.. one for me... ;D now THAT will be a trip down memory lane! I can't wait for it to get here... I just found out that Jeremey Bulloch(Boba Fett) was in that! I was looking for pics for drawings, and checking out the old SW Insiders.Read about it

Oooh, the 70's. I had an afro in high school. And bell bottoms. My hair just stands up on it's own when it's that short. One of the reasons why I like it longer. pictures

I don't remember the local horror movie show. We might not have had one, I think we might have had syndicated Elvira, which kind of sucked. What we did have, in the late 70's and early 80's, was "Dialing for Dollars". There was some sort of contest to call in for, but they showed themed movies every week, right after school (and General Hospital). One week it was classic horror, one week it was beach movies, one week it was B-monster movies, and so on. Good stuff. Then over to PBS for Dr. Who just before dinner time. Yeah!

Ooh, I remember watching the Late, Late Movie at my cousin's house. It was "Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte". Don't remember much of the movie, but I DO remember being so scared that I didn't sleep all night, because her house made all kinds of strange noises.
I still have my charm bracelet. We got a charm for everyplace we visited on vacation. I've tried to keep the tradition alive, but I haven't seen charms in the shape of the states for a long time, so I know there are some states missing from mine.
