All of the "old" (over 40 as opposed to the teen-aged) fencers at my club tonight were commenting that after fencing we always [glow=red,2,300]sleep VERY WELL[/glow] and [glow=red,2,300] wake up VERY SORE![/glow] One of the guys said his wife always asks him if he got the license plate number of the truck that hit him. Yes, I remember having the energy to stay up until all hours... even dancing at the disco in college.... It's not (just) the years, it's the mileage....

Soda (or pop, depending on where you're from) in small glass bottles. Or in pop tab cans where the tab actually pulled all of the way off. Like Margaritaville: "Stepped on a pop top..."

Yep.. remember all that.
Its funny, the Dairy Queen here has a bunch of old pop tops imbedded in the tarmac of their parking lot. Once we went their and Karm asked me what they were... hard to explain to someone who has never seen them before
How about.. old fashioned fountain Cokes where the guy actually ahd to mix the cola syrup with corbonated water before her served it
I actually did that at our old drugstore my Dad owned when I was growing up, but we also had an old fountain Coke machine too that mixed it as it came out. And Man those were the best Coca-Colas I've ever had...

Remember when each playground had a real, honest-to-goodness METAL slide and not those awful staticky plastic ones? Sure the metal ones got hotter'n Mustafar in summer but they had some real slip to 'em! My mom even taught me a trick for a faster ride; after you eat a sandwich, take the wax paper and ride it down the slide. Woo-hoo! Talk about slippery! I can remember my first time sliding down a plastic slide (I think it was at a 'refurbuished' park) and getting 'zapped'. I still get zapped! C'mon, guys! Bring back the metal slide and just keep them in the shade!

I miss my old metal slide...then again, I was the one that found a way to keep a running garden hose up at the top. Water slide into a puddle of mud. My mom coulda killed me... ;D

My "hometown" has a drive-in theater that's still open. Flea market on weekend afternoons and a double feature on weekend nights.

I still think stove-top-popped popcorn tastes the best Ditto! I agree! I still do that in my mom's old pot (that I borrowed from her house years ago), just to get that taste! ;D
