:-/I'm not sure where to put this.
I was just wondering how many different kinds of Master Replica F/X light sabers there are? I had heard about them & saw them at C3 but I was just wondering what the different ones were.
I have the Luke Skywalker ANH & ROTJ I also have the Mace Windu
Besides the Anakin, Darth Vader, future Darth Maul I think Count Dooku was done to?
what are the others that have been made? I'm thinking along the lines of Qui-Gon & Obi-Won

There is an OBi-wan coming and maybe a Qui-Gon to,Dooku was not an fx saber just a replica, possably a yoda as soon as they get the electronics right so they fit in the hilt thats all that I know of right now

you could always go to www.masterreplicas.comI never knew there was a 2nd generation Luke ROTJ, I don't see this on their website. Would this have 3 AA batteries as opposed to the 6? I know they can't do Count Dooku since the hilt is curved, for whatever reason they can't do it.

The first generation Luke RoTJ saber had an EL blade, the new one has an LED blade, that's the difference, and why it looked more blue/green.
The Anakin AoTC blade was also EL.
They probably can't do the Dooku saber, because of the curve. No good way to mount an LED blade securely in that one, or put a battery holder in it.

I'd like a AOTC obi-wan, tough.

Loreen, Thanks! Yes, I do know they can't make Dooku's because of the curve. But, what's the difference between EL and LED?

Thanks to all. I just wasn't sure if I had missed anything. I'm awaiting the Obi-Wan ROTS when it comes out. I wasn't sure if they had made a Qui-Gon F/X yet. This doesn't belong here but I just thought I'd throw it out, if you don't mind? Has anyone heard what's going on with the 2 Master Replica Costumes yet? MR said they were making them & Museum Replicas was selling them--just wondered.

There are many pictures of the new FX sabers and Jedi costumes here: www.rebelscum.com/gallery/mr-pretoyfair-05/Personally I don't like the thick neck of the Obi-Wan FX saber. However the Maul saber looks awesome! Definitely getting one (or two ) of those! ;D So far there are no plans for a Qui-Gon FX saber. Which is dissapointing- the shape of the Qui-Gon hilt would be perfect for housing the electronics and not have it look inaccurate (unlike the Luke ROTJ and Obi-Wan ROTS hilts). It gets a little technical but here goes: EL stands for Electro Luminescence (not sure if I spelled it correctly). This is basically a sheet that glows when electricity is applied to it. It can also be called a lightsheet. In a lighsaber blade it is rolled up in a polycarbonate tube. LEDs are Light Emiting Diodes. They are (for lack of a better term) very tiny lightbulbs. They are extremely bright; much brighter than an EL sheet. They also produce a rich colour (example EL sheets look blue/green instead of pure green). The newer FX sabers have 64 LEDs. The best part is that an LED blade has a proper "power up- power down" effect. The light travels up the blade when you turn it on, and back down when you turn it off (just like a lightsaber in the movies). An EL lightsaber blade does not have this capability- when you turn it on, the entire blade lights up at once. It is either completely on or completely off. The downside of LED sabers is that if a few of the LEDs burn out (either by being damaged from dueling, or just burning out on their own) you will have a saber with dark areas in the blade. This does not happen with an EL blade saber which makes the EL better for dueling. Of course I'm no expert on this. The real experts can chime in anytime! ;D

Thanks for the link. On MR costumes, they have Obi-Wans lightsaber on an O ring? That seems a little weird.

I think they were killing two birds with one stone with that display. It's actually a Luke ANH lightsaber hilt (showcasing MR's new signature edition Luke Ep IV saber). Really that display was quite a mish-mosh and haphazardly put together. Obi-Wan's belt is twisted around backward and Anakin doesn't even have one! Just to add: Why did they get Obi-Wan's boots sooo wrong? They certainly do not look like his ROTS boots, and are not even right for his Ep I/II boots. Having said that- they still make excellent Jedi boots- BUT if I'm paying an incredible amount of money for an Obi-Wan Kenobi costume, I would want everything to be spot-on accurate.
