FYI,
I sent "Ultra Todd" some blueprints just before D*Con. I touched base with him after the convention and he said that while he does have a couple of machinists that do side work for them, they tend to take their time when looking at the "one-offs" which I took to mean the one-of-a-kind custom jobs. He said he would get back to me when they had a chance to look at the blueprints.
With all respect to Todd, as I know he is extremely busy with the business and the website changes and all, I do not realistically expect to hear back from his machinists any time soon. I am considering just buying a Lux5 stunt model (13.5") off-the-shelf from him, then take my own measurements and have a local shop cut the custom parts to modify the saber.
I think it would be less work and better results if UltraSabers would make the parts for me per the design I sent, but time may push me toward "plan B."
I'll shoot him a followup note after a couple months.

I myself would just go to www.thecustomsabershop.com/default.aspxthey have a great assortment of pieces that you can put together and also you can email tim and sometimes he will do custom pieces for you without the year wait for a great looking saber. check out the galleries and forums and see what the guys have come up with.

Thanks VT. I met James3 (sabersmith from the TCSS forums) over the weekend and he recommended doing the same thing. I am currently re-vamping the blueprints, but will bounce the design off Tim when they are ready.
