;D ;D ;DI'm sooooooooo excited & WOWED! ;D ;D ;D
It's almost a year since I 1st put my design into Random sabers for a new hilt that I wanted to have them make for me. I had my ideas & they added some modifications but mostly mine.
This morning while checking my email I got my update from them about the completion of my new hilt. GL had priority for his stuff to be done 1st. I started out at number 60 & now finally the finished hilt is about to be sent to me.
I looked at the picture they sent to me of it & all I can say is WOW! never in my ability could I even come close to doing it myself. I look forward to when I can show everybody what it looks like. I have to use a lot of Jedi patience to wait for it to arrive so I can handle it for the 1st time. I wanted one that would especially be very special for canon events.

Wow, a year? Do they really take that long? I sent a link to their site to a friend of mine. He has already emailed them with a design idea.

How much do they charge to make a saber by your own specs?

I'd love to lathe my own saber. That would be like the ultimate saber building experience.
but like most people, I don't have access to a lathe...

How much do they charge to make a saber by your own specs? Cost depends on detailing, difficulty of lathe and millwork, no blade/ acrylic blade/ carbon blade/ EL blade, etc. low end can be $60-$80 and high end can be in the $240-$300 range............

Is your saber listed on the RandomSaber website yet, I'd love to see a picture of it.

;D the good news is the saber hilt is on it's way FINALLY. I will post a pics of the hilt here once I get it. It's gorgous--at least I think it is. This is the design of my new hilt. It does not have any electronics in it but it is a stunt saber & will hold a green blade. There were some other modifications I did to it at the very end--so it will look a bit different then this but not by much.

;D It's HERE! YEAH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D design with top view of hilt design with side view of hilt I think I'm already planning my next one with them. Should be interesting. Maybe if somebody gives me some help I can get electronics on the next one. I'm not sure where to get the electronics from. The price was reasonable, but this one has no electronics in it. It holds a stunt blade, like the ones used in Ep 1,2,3 or a green acrylic blade, which just slides in. It does fit on my covertech clip. I'll be looking forward to wearing in full Jedi garb for the 1st time--not quite sure when that will be.

Nice lightsaber hilt! The strong use of brass lends a very elegant touch to the lightsaber and makes it unique. The knurled sections within the grip are a good way to truly get a grip on the saber. What is its length? It may be somewhere posted above but I don't recall seeing it. So the activation switch is up beneath the shroud on the underside of the saber or is that a thumbscrew used to hold the blade in place? You've kept the design of the saber simple and straightforward, a perfect compliment to the humble nature of the Jedi order. I assume that the saber is crafted from both aluminum and brass. Is the emitter designed in any particular fashion or is it simply crafted to accomodate an acrylic blade? Overall, your lightsaber looks well built and is a truly functional weapon. I am glad that you are pleased with your lightsaber!

It's a touch shorter then the one I usually wear. I'm going to have to measure it for exact length. The emitter is designed to accomodate the acrylic blade. The blade sinks in about 4 inches into the shaft.
