Okay, im going to be building this saber sunday: The entire body except for the endpiece and knobs are contructed from Tanzan's Anakin inspired tutorial, (although the LED cut out strip will only be about 3 inches instead of 6)while the blue grip is a rubber tennis racket sleeve used to give better grip to the handle. (it has a slight bit of padding under it so it gives a good cushy feeling). Any ideas or tips?

I like it My one question, is is the tennis racquet griptape going to be blue? I see you're adding a brass thumb 5crew on the back of the emitter shroud... Where abouts did you get it from? I wanted to add one to my Anakin-inspired saber, but couldn't find anywhere locally that sells them... The only tip I can really give, beyond taking your time on any cuts, is when cutting the LED cutouts, don't try and cut along the line of the template. Cut a few mm either side, and then file back to the line on the template I can't wait to see how it comes out

Thanks guys, and yes it is blue (im really going for a non canon, good guy all the way type saber(i would have gotton red or black but they don't have them colors) The Brass thumb screw is from a my little nephews saber that a another jedi made for me on this site. (it was too high for his fingers to fit comfortly so i replaced it with a smaller thumb screw and got his). Also thanks for the tip because this will probably be the most difficult part of the saber for me in trying to keep the lines straight.

Okay the saber is completed and acutally came out just as i had planned. I only decided to do a LED cutout on one side to kinda symbolize the one sided activation bar if that makes since. The cuts are practically perfect although it did slide a bit on the cutout area but you only can see about an inch of that area anyway. The endpiece has changed and is larger. (the endpiece was constructed using Tenrics Padawan saber tutorial) I should have pics up tomorrow or tuesday at the latest, whenever i get a chance to use my friends Digital Camera.

Fantastic, I can't wait to see it I'm glad you found the tip usefull [Edit to add] I bet the saber has a nice weight, if you bulked the internal pipe to fit the external one

Yes tanzan it has weight, im not going to lie it felt so real when i picked it up for the first time, just a solid feel to it. I was unable to find a 1inch metal pipe so i substituted with one of my old 3/4 inch PVC pipes with a doulrod giving the emitter a very complex look. (use metallic Plasti-cote car paint) The cut out area where the LED's go is going to be black instead of metallic. (I didn't feel like paying $15 for a role of conducting type tape for one strip, so im using Electrical tape.)

I think the nicest thing about a hand-made saber is when it has a really solid feel when you pick it up, when it's heavier than it looks, it definitely gives it an added authenticity I like the sound of your variations, I can't wait to see pics of it, especially the detail of the emitter, it sounds great I got the aluminum tape for putting around the activation bands of my Obi-Wan inspired sabers, so it was something I needed, and just kept finding more and more uses for it ;D
