Nice graflex style curve you have at the emitter, did you cut it yourself?

It's a nice design Are you planning on adding an activator to it?

Thanks,
Seda-yes i made a template and slowly cut it with a dremel because i learned that the slower you go the better the cut will be. The curve was mostly made from my sanding drum.
Tanzan-if you mean an activator bar like Anakins and Obi-wans no since the grips are higher up because of the endcap so that would leave little room for my other hand. I use that little silver knob on the bottom as mine, even got a slight angle to fit the curve of my thumb.

Ahh, that's fair enough Every hilt should fit the person who makes it I've always liked to have the activators where my lower thumb can trigger it, but I've seen quite a few where the upper hand is used to trigger the activator as well

Don't get me wrong though i like the activator box since it makes sabers acutally look like they were made and not machined or something like that I plan on making another saber when i get some money to resemble anakins more, probably be using your tutorial for it.

I hope you find the tutorial helpfull I'm actually working on another Anakin saber myself, but an idealized version of his AotC saber. In all honesty, I've never been over keen on the Graflex saber, I certainly would never want (an authentic) one myself, as they would be too wide for me to grip comfortably, but I had to make it for the art entry I was working on, and thought that as it is such an iconic saber, others might find my DIY method helpfull in making their own. The AotC saber is actually almost entirely finished, all I have to do is wait for the grips, activator and covertec knob to arrive, and it will be done, and it didn't take more than 4 hours to do ;D Probably one of the easiest sabers I've ever made Good luck with yours, I can't wait to see the results

its a great hilt, but something looks missing, and its not the activator box, it just looks kinda bare.

I know about the way some sabers look bare. If you compare the picture of my lightsaber in my profile to my reworked version, I thought mine looked bare, too. Which inspired the leather wrapping for the grip...though, admittedly, I prefer the "pressure switch" from the original to the button on the rework.

pressure switch, what do you mean by that. is it like you just place your finger there and it activates?

pressure switch, what do you mean by that. is it like you just place your finger there and it activates? Basically. But, seeing as I couldn't get one to work on my EL version it was changed. I'd heard of one in the books that the switch is only activated when being held. That's how I designed the control on the first one, the brass and black enamel plates on the end near the emmitter...but, that was also the non-functioning one.
