i need to get out more we usually just wait until it comes out on dvd unless it is something like the new spiderman or star wars then we go and see it. the last movie i watched was walking tall with the rock. was a good movie but it seemed like when it started getting good, it ended. i have seen all the old walking tall movies about buford pusser and just felt the new one was too short. would like to see (besides spiderman 2 and SW3), van helsing, aliens vs predator, and the chronicles of ridd.... (hah, i want even give you the chance censorship thing) when they come on dvd.

Saw The Day After Tommorrow yesterday, really silly movie, not the most believeable plot, about as believeable as Armegeddon, but the SPFX were really pretty good, and it was really a great POPCORN ride. I had fun, went to see TROY again after it was over, REALLY LOVE THE SWORDFIGHT in TROY!

I did it! I broke my string of not seeing movies. Karm and I went to see "Garfield". He like it. It was okay, but there were a few things I didn't agree with. Jon was not geeky enough. There. Enough said. And Liz was not cynical enough. (I guess enough wasn't said LOL.) And anyone who has read the strip in the early days knows that is NOT how Jon got Odie.
Most of this I know 'cuase one of my best buds from college was a "Garfield" fanatic -- that was at the height of Garfield-mania when almost every car had a stuffed Garfield suction cupped to a window

How did Jon get Odie?
I saw the Stepford Wives. It was funny! And the premise was interesting. If you could change someone to your specifications, would you? Hmmmmm...............

The gang from work went to see Spiderman II on weds., It was fun! loved Doc OCK, they did a really neat job of him, and he was always a fav. villian of mine, along with Dr. Doom. I didn't see Spider I partly because I wanted D. Ock, I have no memory of a G. Goblin villian, but haven't read the comic since about ish. # 100, so maybe he came later, or just wasn't as BAD as ol Ocky! Tentacles were really neat, and a reasonable plot & dialogue as well.

I too say Spider-Man 2 on opening night, and thought it was execllant. As a life long Spidey fan i thought they stayed fairly to true the charactor and comic content. I was very happy with it.

I had fun, went to see TROY again after it was over, REALLY LOVE THE SWORDFIGHT in TROY! << Admit it, you loved the guys in short tunics too. I saw the Stepford Wives. It was funny! And the premise was interesting. If you could change someone to your specifications, would you? Hmmmmm...............<< I want to see this-though might not be until DVD. I saw the original back in '70s on a date in a drive-in theater. Saw it the other day on DVD in Best Buy, was tempted to buy it. My fave was Dr. Doom, that Darth Vader was patterned after. And yes, there were two Green Goblins. First one in first Spiderman movie and his son, who becomes the Hobgoblin, which those of you who saw this film know the next villian for film 3 at the end of #2.To recap, the more goblin-like who threw those pumpkin bombs. . .. I didn't see Spidey I, but what I meant was I didn't remember the Goblin from the comics. Yes, The 1st time I saw Star Wars & Vader, I thought of Dr. Doom, who was my fav comic villian. I was never a reader of DC comics, but really liked several of the Marvels, esp Silver Surfer & SubMariner. I haven't read any comics in 25 years or more so it was funny at the rental shop, years ago when people would come in looking for an X Men character called Wolverine, he didn't exist when I read the comics, he came later, after I stopped reading them.

i agree xana and that is saying alot since i loved the first one. i read that the second one also broke the record of the first one. i think they said the second made 218 million in 10 days or something like that.

I actually rented a DVD....
LOTR...."Return of the King"....I think I was probably the last person in America to see it....
Way toooooooooo long...IMHO.... was glad that I had the fast forward button for some of the seemingly endless fight scenes....but all in all...kinda liked it.....

Xana, rent the DVD of the '60s Spiderman cartoons that just came out and you'll see Hobgoblin in it. I saw both goblins in comics when read them in '60s and they're in my son's comics (which he still has, put away). Maybe you just missed them. actually rented a DVD.... I like it, but that's me. Can't wait for the extended version. Anyway, many movies are long nowadays--which when view on DVD, you can pause, go to the bathroom, get something to eat, even watch the rest of it another day! LOL JMD
