No, not really... I don't think it's short exactly, I think it's just that they are thicker than others... I have kinda long fingers... Constructive criticism?

It's okay DavicFoper, I don't think LoreenShadowchaser was trying to by too hyper critical. I think I speak for everyone when I say that you are doing very well with your first lightsabers. You have a minimalistic style, which in the past hasn't been popular because of the fear of mistaking a lightsaber for a flashlight (which is were I get some of my best parts). Alot of a lightsaber design is style, and that style reflects you as the maker. So it is a logical step to see a small lightsaber and think small hands....unfortunally 2D pictures don't show thickness well, or else we would have seen 'long fingers,' an easy mistake to make. Still, the sabers do look a little shorter than the average, which is fine so long as that is what you are going for.

No offense taken at all... the sabers are actually kind of short; the single hilts being 9-10'' and the double is about 17''. So in revue they are kind of short. And they are just simple PVC lightsabers without the dressing on them so I really didn't need the extra length. They fit me fine though. Really I know they're not up to snuff, they were designed around the blade I wanted to have and they work fine. My next few will be much better, I'm not going to design around the blade; they will just be for looks. ANd I have found alot of really good looking, inexpensive saber tutorials on this site. Thanks all! And really I don't take offense to criticism, unless I think your just outright wrong or doing it to belittle, which I know nobody would. I'm just glad to finally have a place to talk Star Wars props seriously. Thanks again!

I think your sabres are great. Are you a Spiderman fan by any chance? The little decoraitions on the double saber look kinda' like spiders. Very cool looking. As the books say, each jedi's lightsabre is constructed for the individual being's hand or appendage, If it makes you happy and you like it, then so do we. Asthetics of a weapon is in the eyes of the maker.

Well thanks, Master Enz. There can be no higher compliment. Well yes I am a Spider-Man fan, which kind of influenced the design of the spiders. I just thought it would be cool to have that kind of design on a Sith's lightsaber. Thanks again!

You'er welcome, and it works great for a jedi's saber. Who sez spiders are only for baddies? :-D In fact spiders are the benifical creaturs. Maybe the Jedi just plain likes spiders. Or had a tarantula as a pet. There's a force ability called "Wall walking" what better creature to show this than a spider.

Forgive my ignorance, Master Starkindler, but I don't understand what you mean.

The book 'The Cestus Deception'. One of the indigenous species on that planet are large, intelligent spiders. A Jedi from that planet might use such a motiff on a saber since the Spider-People represent an abused minority that the Jedi might consider worthy of championing.... In my humble opinion of course.

Opinions are never humble; they are more important than facts. Through facts do we form our opinions but through our opinions do we define ourselves. (I'm sorry, I really like talking like a Jedi. I'm sorry if it annoys.) Also as to Master Enz's comment, this lightsaber was constructed as a favor to my brother (more or less) who favors the teachings of the Sith.

You need to post a link between those two ![]() tags, the link where your pic is hosted.

Okay heres the only pic I could get full size... If you are using imageshack, don't bother with the "thumbnail preview" or "use this for forums" links, especially when the pics are this small. Simply use the link entitled "direct link to image" and put the ![]() [/img] tags on each side of it Oh and great looking saber! ANH/ESB hybrid eh?
