OK i wanted to make a Double-Bladed Saber, like Darth Mauls, I'm making a Zabrak Sith/Jedi costume and I wanted a Double-Bladed saber, I guess Hardware one since I can't find a soul that can make one for m.( I mean machined like the randomsaber sabers, and if I could find someone that do do that for me cheaply i would literally beg at their feet, literally) but anyway considering the fact I might not find someone to do that i wanted to know if anyone can help me find a design or a way to do it with hardware parts easily and without or alt east with little tools. Please someone help me!

I'll see if I can come up with an idea for a hardware saber for you Are there any design features you'd like it to include? Any favorite Jedi who's sabers you would like to reference?

The 501st (www.501st.com) is the best place to go when looking for help on a Darth Maul costume. It's a more difficult costume to do. I did a DVD release event a couple of weeks ago with for 501st and their Maul has to shave his head every time he does that costume. And he had to get the special contact lenses for it as well -- though they're not that hard to get these days. wanted to add that i also need some help making a darth maul costume if anyone can hel me there let me know

double bladed lightsaber, hmmm... Do you want it to be metal or PVC. Ive never done it with metal but with PVC i have. PVC would be the easier solution since you can buy large lengths and there are so many adaptors and stuff you can add on to make it look good. In metal the only thing i could see you doing is buying two 12 inch pipes and screwing them together with an adaptor. If you have a dremel you could cut fancy designs into it or grooves to fit O-rings in it, but if you're like me and don't have a dremel you're limited.

To answer questions,TanzanLinnear, as far as a Jedi i wold like it to resemble, no one just a custom design but not to complicated. and Ani-Chay Pinn I don't want the Darth maul exact outfit just the robes, I'm going to be a Zabrak but not specifically Darth Maul, and I know about the head shaving thing, I was going to do it anyway . And Andle Di-Ranos, metal, I want it metal, i know PVC works well but I want a more natural metal look. NOTE:[/font] [glow=red,2,300]I might not be able to get ahold of a dremel, maybe, but not sure![/glow]

A metal one then. Well the easiest way i can see is connect two metal pipes together. Then get some grip matieral or O-rings and put it in specific areas, with a way to prevent them from sliding back and forth. For the emitter i would use PVC. If you have a hack saw you can cut similer emitter designs like anakins or Plokoons and more than likely wedge fit them on the end or drill a hole and put screw in it. Really it just depends on the price range, and ive never been good at making metal sabers.

Okay, I'll have a scout around and see what I can come up with... I've also promised to make a saber for Xana, so I will have plenty of metal tubing to make a double-ended hilt for you as well I'll have a think about some designs and post them for you

yeah thanks Tanzan, and Andle I used to be plo koon here and that's my second favorite character in Star Wars and I tried to make his saber and the emitter came out very well, the only reason I scraped the project was because I couldn't get a good pic if his inner robes.

I thought about a double blade for a while. I considered using an automobile clothes hanger rod. You'd just have to trim it down or just use the outer tube for it. www.safetycentral.com/deexauulclba.html

The site has it listed as 35" to 56". I haven't had a chance to measure it, but I seem to walk by it at work from time to time...which means it can be found either at WalMart or Target.
