I think they'd be too thick as its actually quite thin since I've got teeny weeny hands as I'm petite (5' and very skinny)

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I think that you have a great design. I was wondering if you could post some dimensions of your saber. Like length, diameter of the tube you used. What are the parts made of, pvc, metal pipe, sink drain, what are the grips made of? Any info would be nice. Once again your saber looks great. Till the next time. 8-)Jedidad "MTFBWY".....A

Good job! Your saber is very similar to the 1st PVC pipe saber I made, except mine was black & silver in colour.

Graflexshop sell those too. I think these grips are even wider then the blast-tech ones...

Nice design! i was going to start on mine last weekend but i decided to wait till christmas since my dads getting me one of those $60 Dremel tool sets so i can make me a real nice metal one. I'll probably order some grips from blastech too.

I used a 30mm pvc pipe and a resizer for the middle bit. Had to get Dad to cut off the lip part so I could slide the resizer along the main pipe. The bottom was a cap for the pipe and the emitter was a joiner thing which Dad cut. He also cut the main pipe to the right length which is 23cm and 3mm. Inside the emitter shroud is the bottom of a film cannister which is the emitter itself. The buttons are three drawing pins with the pin part cut off and a bit of the plastic grip cut off by Dad. The grips on the saber are made from bits of an old mousepad. And the button that clips the saber to my belt is a spare jeans dome. Had to get Dad to drill a hole through the saber and then I pushed the bottom bit of the dome through it with glue on it to get it to stay put on the saber. Other wise it just pulled off the darn thing and the saber would fall off me. Not a good look. It did that at the Halloween alternative I went to. Luckily my brother had our toy sabers with him so I used my rubies saber in place of the hand made one which was minus its belt clip button.

Ahh, that is a very small tube diameter, I think you're right that the other grips would be too thick... Failing that, you could try using windscreen wiper blades to achieve a more raised (but still narrow) effect similar to Master Windu's saber... Here's a saber I made based on his using wipers

I was wondering what your design objective is for your saber?
-- how do you want to attach it to your belt? -- what colors did you want it to be? -- do you want a simple look or more complicated things on it?
The overall design looks good, but where do you want to make improvements? I always had problems with attaching my first saber attempt to a belt before I found a covertec clip. And I had problems with silver paint rubbing off of things before I added a clear coat to seal it.

That pic I posted of the grips (which I changed) is from the Graflex shop. They redirect you to that other site I posted the link for.

I"m happy with my saber as it is. The colors are what I wanted them to be and I wanted to attach it to my belt with a button as I have a nokia clip thing there already from using with my toy saber.
