Well I was in walmart today and of coarse they already got halloween stuff out, so i walked down the isle and saw a rubies darth vader saber. Didn't have much time to look at it but are they more accurate than the hasbro lightsabers or what? I plan on getting it to go with my finished vader suit and was wondering is it duelable?
also does it have some sort of belt clip like the 7 dollar hasbro ones do?

I got the Rubies Vader one at CIII, it isnt' too bad...just make sure that the cross piece is over the emitter section or the blade will fall out.

I went online today and got a picture of it and it shows a d-ring, looks metal too. Does any one know if it is real or not?

I looked at it this weekend too. It looks all plastic to me. didn't notice the d-ring, but the package probably hid it.

*Checks his toybox*
The Rubies has the D-Ring up by the emitter. The D-Ring is metal, and I wouldn't duel with it too much, it can't take much of beating.
Looking at it again, they have a knob near the grip end so it could probably work with a belt clip too. I'd wondered when they actually put the swing arm piece over the blade if they'd intended on it being worn upside down "Jedi Style" or emitter up "Sith Style"

I have a rubies Anakin one which I customised. Are they allowed in TJA? I know Hasbro one's aren't but this one is a costume accessory not a toy saber and they do warn that they aren't suitable for duelling. I do gentle duelling with mine and the worst that happened is the top piece fell off. I just glued it back on and the saber is fine.

I believe that Rubie's sabers are still considered toys and therefore not acceptable. The Council will have to decide on that, if they haven't already.

I've emailed Tanthos querying this issue. My problem is that I don't have the right tools to make a lightsaber and I have a very limited budget as I only have a casual job.
