I'm getting a little confused. I thought all Jedi wore their lightsabers on their left side on their utility belt. I wear mine on my left side. I've been noticing in several places when I've been in costume at different cons, etc. that I've seen people dressed as Jedi but with the saber on the right side. I just would like this clarified please. I thought I read about it somewhere but I forgot where. Thanks

This was discussed in another thread somewhere on here but many of the Jedi DO wear their sabers on the left. However not all do. For example, in EpIII when Mace and Co. go to arrest Palpatine, Saesee Tinn in that scene has his saber on the right. It is my opinion that there is no required side, though custom tends to have it on the left. I wear mine on the right as personal preference...

It's easier, so I hear from left-handed geeks, if you wear your lightsaber on the opposite side as your dominate hand. For example, I'm a right-handed Jedi. I have my saber on the left side of my belt. But, some people find it easier to have it on the same side as their dominate hand. I prefer to draw my saber 2-handed (I have a Covertec)...I think I might be the only one after reading the most popular methods on TF.N. But, hey, isn't Geekdom all about originality?

right or left handed would dictate most often. personal preference the rest of the time. I am a left-handed geek, but use my right for throwing and batting, either hand for sword or weapon work.....and both hands for eating....

Thank you that clears that bit of confusion up. Also it makes sense. I did read in an original thread somewhere that the Jedi had it on the left & the Sith on the right--I think that's why I got confused.

Yes there was a thread that proposed that theory. Screen caps from ROTS showed that jedi do wear them either side though.

Hmmmmm, verbally, that could be funny, as left wearing-right weilding would be dexterous and right wearing-left weilding would be sinister.

Well I'm right-handed, but I'm left-footed, So I guess my side preference would depend on whether I'm going to draw with a hand or a foot! lol!
