They make pewter...
And you can frost a silver paint over it.

Another option, is rather than using PVC, make it in metal. If you use PVC at all, then there's always going to be the issue of the paint rubbing off or getting scratched (even with molecular bonding paint), but metal will always maintain it's appearance

If you use PVC at all, then there's always going to be the issue of the paint rubbing off or getting scratched (even with molecular bonding paint) Unless you want it to look like that. I painted over some of the black I have for my emitter with gold...then painted over it with silver. I was expecting the silver to rub off, so that it would look more like it was plated and anodized.

On my first pvc saber i used Plasti-kote brand primer and chrome car paint. Since then Ive droped it several times on purpose to test the paints durability and it doesn't come of. But it does make indentions in the pvc. or you don't paint them at all because in my characters story my saber is carved from a Kraat dragon bone. So that is another option.

you need to sand the PVC before painting, I use heavy to lite grits, heave get the coating off, med to start smoothing it out and lite will do the rest. I've never had and issue with paint after I started doing this.....
I hope this helps ya
