Thanks, and no I hand't looked in the other thread. Sorry man. There's some that are so simialr I forget which ones I'd posted on. I shall find it. No problem, Jauhsmynn, I hope you find the answers enlightening Thanks for the new shots. Very cool!
I'm getting more impressed with your saber with each pic you post! Thanks, Loreen Without meaning to sound big-headed, I definitely think it's the best saber I've made, and I'm really proud of the cutting/filing work The only thing I'm not 100% happy about with it is when the tube arrived from the US, it had sustained a very small dent to the side of the tube (about 1 cm to the right of the top of the activator) that looked as if someone placed a flat screwdriver against the tube and hit it, but I wasn't going to send it all the way back simply because of that as it's such a minor defect, and there's no guarantee that another one would get through undamaged also. Other than that, I think it's perfect, and short of it being destroyed, I can't see a reason why I would ever want to make a new saber for myself. (although I am making a new one for my fiance, which will have equal care put into it's construction)

At least the metal ones I've seen anyway.

I believe the dent is supposed to help keep the hose and actual tube held together better

I believe the dent is supposed to help keep the hose and actual tube held together better I'm pretty sure that it's travel damage, as the indentation is not a symmetrical pair... If you have a look at the picture I posted of the back of the saber, you can see the dent to the right of the activator, just at the visible edge of teh saber. I have to admit, for everything else that could've gone wrong with the cutting of the tubes, I think I was pretty lucky with how it turned out Solinbeb, thanks again for posting the initial link to the wand, as without it, I'd never have known it was available. Have you had any success in your own quest for curved piping?

Well, due to being short on funding, I dismantled my original one and have been reworking it that way.
Which, wouldn't be the first time I've reconstructed it...as some of the epoxi I'd used on it originally decided to shear one the way to CIII...on the first day.
Luckily, I travel with spare components and was able to put it back together before even getting to the line.

Ahh, I'd be interested to see photos of the re-worked saber It's annoying when epoxy does that, but fortuneately it's fairly easy to repair when it does that. Every saber I've made has had the emitters shear off at some point ;D

If I can get the time (and money) I'm upgrading it to an EL...luckily, most of my spare parts would work for an EL saber as well as they did the stunt version. I just had to take out the threaded core (for the stunt blade) and replace it with the electronics for the EL.
I think I understand why jedi moved more into a hermitage or more of a isolated life after Order 66...it wasn't to evade the Empire, it was to get away from spending money on things outside of their lifestyle.

I have to admit, I don't think I'd ever get or make an EL saber as I can't foresee needing to actually use it with a blade, as most of the time I simply wear the saber on my belt, and as I'd rotoscope the blade anyway, EL would be unneccesary (not to mention stashing the blade away in the robes could be difficult;D)

I figured I'd rechallenge myself in lightsaber construction. I've built "most" of the lightsabers I was going to use for props on my fanfilm as well as a wooden version of my holocron made (before I cast it in other materials). bsideproductionstx.tripod.com/NewHorCrossProps.htmI haven't done Jace's or Bane's sabers yet, as I was trying to coax my apprentice Jason into making them himself. And the guy I cast for Tholin never got to describing what his character's lightsaber looked like...so I don't have that sketch either. If I can get my hands on a camera, I'll put up pictures of the other props from it, though, the one for Solinbeb is in my information.

Thanks, Ky-Wan. This is by no means a complete costume, but here's a something for now...
