Thanks for the "Shopping List" ... My Father-in-Law is a plummer, I was going to raid his parts bin next time I'm at his shop ... I'm not sure what brand Home Depot or Lowes carries but I'll investagate. I may have to make a couple.

Looking good!! does your design call for two of the part shown in the 5th picture? It looks as if there would be one on each side.

;D Well, unfortunately the photo in the "Insider" Magazine is only a computor generated image, and is only used as a photo for the article. As far as I can tell there is only one showing in the photo, but thanks for the thought!!!! Now you have me thinking if this would look good. The image shows that the silver area behind the black piece as being recessed. But I have chosen not to. I am going to get some silver or mylar style tape to put behind the black for this. I chose this over recessing the areas for time and my sanity. Maybe the second one I am building I will take the time to do so. I just want to finish this one. I have learned alot of new ways to assemble this thing after it is painted rather than paint it after it is done being built. As long as we continue to learn it's great, I always hate having to start over again and again making the same mistake. Well, I will post more late. Till the next time. "MTFBWY".....A ;DJedidad ;D

Yeah, you're right, I didn't see those on his parts list.
They look to me like some sort of threaded ring lock washers or something like that.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Hello everyone, Yes, I did leave out this part till I could get the info on exactly what I purchased. It is a "1" muffler lock nut" Briggs & Stratton # 691808 about $3.50. I used 2 of them and JB Weld to hold them together. I am going to drill 2 holes in the assembly and tap them and insert a set screw to hold it in place. Here is an updated photo of the painting process. An addition to the assembly of the end emitter. I learned this the hard way of course. Assemble all the main pieces. but leave the outer larger ring off, and the 1 reducing ring off. Paint them first, then assemble them. Because they are three different colors, this made painting them much easier. I had to build another one because I became so frustrated on how I was going to paint three different colors so close to each other with out interfering with the other. As you can see by the photo it worked great doing it this way. I think I am going to redo the black sticker on the side of the pommel, I do not like the scale of the one I did, so I will post an updated photo of the new one that I make for your pleasure. I am hoping to finish this thing this week so I can finish the second one I started to do for this tutorial. sortta??? Well, gotta go for now. ;DJedidad ;D "MTFBWY".....A

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Thank You for the compliment, I forgot to mention. The part is from a small engine used on power equipment like lawn mowers, edgers. It can be found or ordered from a lawn mower shop that makes repairs, or who can order parts. ;DJedidad ;D

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Greetings, Well, I have almost finished this beast. It sure has been fun, but a real pain in the dewback. But I would not have had it any other way. That's what makes prop building so much fun, the challenge, and you can always start over if you screw up. Trust me I have on this one once or twice, or three times. I lost count a long time ago. Well here are some updated photo's of an almost completed hardware saber. My last post hopefully in a couple of days will have the totally complete saber. Thank you for all the comments and praise. Now I have 5 more sabers, and 2 rebel blasters that need my attention when I finish this one. Best regards, ;D ;DJedidad ;D ;D

It looks fantastic! All your hard work has payed off, can't wait to see it finished and hanging on a belt! Have you put anything inside the saber to give it some weight?

;D ;D
Thank you for the praise,
No, no weight added. The large washer and allen bolt at the emitter, and the metal rings at the pommel give it enough weight for my hands.
