I think it's great this group is getting so much attention, it really spreads alot that a fun lightsaber club can be fun and safe.

The rumor was that both NY and LA Jedi were shut down by LFL. I guess time will tell.
Waivers.....not worth the paper on which they are written (spoken with almost 30 years of SCA experience, including being on the corporate Board of Directors). SCA still has everyone sign one as it has a small bit of use in court, but not much.
But waivers wouldn't be the thing that would be concerning for LFL....it's the word "Jedi". TJA had....and continues to have....to jump through hoops with LFL to use that word.

Hmmm, I've never had any problems with any waivers or releases through any of my hobby fight groups. Odd.
Perhaps it's the word and perhaps it's because the groups could have potentially made money off of themselves. See that's the trouble, you cannot make profits on anything LFL related.
I see it more if someone is hurt at these things then LFL would immediately be connected to it if not actually.
part of the same reasons they don't release official patterns for costumes, if someone commited a crime wearing a boba fett replica costume they releasedplans for LFL reputation would be damaged even though they didn't commit the crime.
I had a friend of mine named Grant Hartman who plays chewie at LFL events explain it.
At any rate hopefully these groups can stil get together in non public look and have fun, that's why we buy the sabers to begin with. Next time just think of a different name

Sued nope. Please keep in mind there are some legal loopholes but it all depends on the case, event and a number of other factors. If you've had some bad expiernces with it sorry to hear that. But where I am no troubles, keeping in mind we have a different legal system in some ways.
