Well, I saw some very reasonably priced silk noil with the rigth look so I'll make a long tunic in the style of Obi-Wan's in ANH. My original costume I made of that was no very screen accurate so this time I'll make it right.
It's all nostalgia, but since I made my first Jedi costume in 1978, I'll indulge.

em still has the best smilies... gotta be careful in downloading those, though. They can have malicious code inside. My husband (the LAN-WAN manager security uber-geek) has told me never to download them.

ACK....... I didn't know that. I got most of mine from Yahoo and some privately owned sites..... I have them in my photobucket. I think I'll take them out of my documents. Is having them in the photobucket any safer?

photobucket as in a photohost? Yes, that's better as it's not stored on your own hard drive.

Never download smilies that you see offered for free in an ad, you'll probably end up with spyware, adware, etc. Right clicking on a smily and doing a "save image as" will only get you the JPG or GIF file... A JPG can't contain malicious code, I don't know about a GIF, it's doubtful that it could... the problem comes from the sites that give them away for free... if it's a private site, it probably isn't doing this, it's the sites that place ads on other sites that you have to look out for...
BTW, NEVER download the 'free' screensavers you see in ads unless you want a ton of adware on your PC... I keep all my smilies in Photobucket, since they need to be stores somewhere to work anyway.... and they've all been scanned for viruses and spyware...
There's no need to give them up, just be safe about it...

According to my husband, the uber-geek network/security professional... YES a .jpg can contain malicious code! www.wired.com/science/discoveries/news/2004/09/65116re gif "The fourth problem is that a maliciously-crafted GIF image could be used to launch malicious code. "By carefully crafting a corrupt GIF image, an attacker can trigger a heap buffer overflow that may result in arbitrary code execution," found here searchsecurity.techtarget.com/news/article/0,289142,sid14_gci1157894,00.html
