It arrived from Amazon yesterday. It has an awful lot of EU, which does not appeal to me. I'm still debating returning it.

Ooh...now that's something to look into. Maybe in a while I can see if my library has it.

I got my copy today from amazon. The art is pretty which is scattered throughout the book. Some is very good, but most is average. I do like the layout and the format. It is a combination of historical narrative and first person narratives from the various characters. Most of them are EU characters or movie characters in the post-ROTJ times though there are a few movie character narratives from the Saga-times. And no Qui-Gon narratives! Only a few Dooku and Obi-Wan. And I didn't see any Yoda narratives, which is surprising. Bummer. I suppose this is because there are very few Qui-Gon centered novels/comics.
It is full of EU Jedi stuff, which is fine with me since I can catch up on what people are saying about the EU without actually READING the books. I'll use it for reference for fanfiction. I'll probably ignore a lot of it, but I do like knowing the background.
The bad: the binding is bad!!! I've just got it and was looking through it and a page came out of the index. Ugh! If I were to return it, then that would be the reason.
EDIT: And in general I think that the writing style and quality is good and entertaining, even if it has a lot of EU in it.

Maybe I'll get it since I've read or am reading EU books. But not having any Qui-Gon or Yoda--kind of upsets the applecart, so to speak. Reading about the Sith is a bit unsettling but I realize they're there . Seeing lightsaber moves in the book will be interesting. I just may wait till I can purchase a used copy on Amazon. What is the current price for this possibly interesting book?

I got it for $17.13 on amazon. It's a medium sized paper-cover book.
While I did not see any first person narratives from either Yoda or Qui-Gon, it does have information about them and some artwork, too. And it does have some nice narratives from Luke, Leia and Obi-Wan along with other Jedi Masters. It gives a nice timeline of the Jedi Order from the beginning up through the death of Mara Jade.
The first part of the book, little more than half, is about the Jedi. A little less than half is about the dark side, the Sith and other Force-users (not necessarily dark ones) and their relationship to the Jedi.
I think it will be a handy reference - like I said, I'm not that interested in the EU books / comics / games, which this book is based on along with the movies. But I would like to get the information from the. And this book is indexed, which is helpful.
However, I don't know about getting it used. I mean if a page comes out of a new copy, then I don't know about what condition a used copy would be in.

Quite a few pages came out of my copy of Dressing a Galaxy... The deluxe edition! I'm afraid to turn the pages! The glue job is not very good.
That Force looks like like a good book for reference, but I'm not such a fan of EU either.

I decided to keep mine, loose pages and all. There are enjoyable parts of it and I like being able to look up what people are referring to with the EU without getting any of the books.
I'm glad didn't have any loose pages on the 'Dressing A Galaxy' book!

My wife got this for me as a Christmas present. I haven't had much of chance to look at it, but it looks pretty cool.

I think the best thing about the book is the art work. I love Trevas work. But I am afraid to use it much as my pages are loose as well.
