This is my personal Weird Al favorite! He did an amazing job with that song. There's a great YouTube video of him performing it live, too. youtube.com/watch?v=WQ6hfXdxw5wThe whole band appear to be dressed as Jedi!

Don't know if anyone's thought of this before, but we should have the Council consider making Weird Al an honorary member of TJA. I think many groups have this type of idea regarding the movie/UE celebs, but don't always consider what Yankovic has done for the SW universe! I bet he would really dig it!

Just seems to me like it would be another way to bring some recognition to our group. I'm all for it, but of course, will obey the wishes of the Council ;-)

To answer Jedi Darcu's question- we did in fact invite Weird Al here as an honourary member of the TJA back in 2006 (or was it 2005). This was prompted after someone here discovered he has the TJA listed on the links page of his website. Master Tanthos sent him an email- but to my knowledge he never replied. Here is the original thread: Does Weird Al like us?

Thanks for the info, Ki Vaan. Sad that he didn't reply, but probably his publicists staff that reads emails and such. I think Al would be one of the coolest honorary (or normal) members we could get!

This has always been one of my favorites from Weird Al. He's coming to the Ohio State Fair this year, and I was thinking about going. But I might just save my money for the John Williams concert in September.

I AM going to the State Fair show! Woo hoo! 2 more weeks! And I actually got decent seats. And fo rthose of you who have never seen it, the encore traditionally is Saga Beginsa nd Yoda. Near the end of Yoda, the band takes off into an extraordinary area called "The Yoda Chant" www.dailymotion.com/relevance/search/yoda+chant/video/x25oev_weird-al-live-yoda-chant_fun/1(This is the more up-to-date version than the video above... the chant changes form time to time)

Enjoy yourself! But years ago a friend of mine who went to a Weird Al concert said that it was great but awfully loud. Consider taking some earplugs to wear under your hat, just in case.
Aaaaaah, I love Weird Al and his All Jedi Band. I had to get the DVD videos after I saw that.

This isn't my first Al show. Saw him on his last tour too, about 2 yers ago.
I just LOVE Al! When I was in college, all my firends thought I should have married him. He is married now and has a girl named Nina. And a poodle named Belle and a bird named Bo.

I have to admit that there are a number of popular songs that I first heard on Weird Al's 'Polkas on 45' medleys. So, I always associate them with Weird Al and not the original.
