Good morning Jedi! Mary Franklin of Lucasfilm has asked for some assistance. I have provided her with a link to this thread....let's keep the discussion "on track" to what she has asked us to help her with.... Below is Mary's message....if you have ideas for her, please post here. ................................................................................................. I have been tasked with creating a Thanksgiving-themed Bantha Tracks Online for next week.
You are hearing about this because I know from my past experience with you, either at shows or through your contributions to Bantha Tracks, that you are creative, clever, and likely to have good ideas.
I'm open to any ideas you might have, and I would also like to see pictures of Star Wars-related Thanksgiving crafts, recipes, decorating, anything that could have a holiday slant to it. Entertaining ideas, Star Wars activities for kids during the holidays, etc.
Also, since Thanksgiving kicks of the giving holiday season, what are the best charities, best community contributions, best giving you 've seen from the Star Wars community this past year?
Thank you in advance! With your help, you could save me from having to outline my hand with a brown crayon and creating a Jedi turkey for the banner art for the site.
Mary Franklin................................................................................................... Thanksgiving is a toughie...so ...put on your thinking caps and post some ideas if you have them.... and remember to please stick to the problem at hand....

My local fan force (MN Force) will be 'bell ringing' two different times for the Salvation Army on 12/2 & 12/15. They have done this in past years (before I was involved in the club).
I'll have lots pictures of this years events since I'll be there in my Jedi costume....plus I'm a total shutter bug;D. I can also try to dig up photos of past years events if you need them.

Eeee-gads. What a deadline. And Thanksgiving is always a tough holiday to do anything for; it's so generic. That's why I like it; low stress.
I picture Anakin getting ready to strike with his lightsaber and a really big cooked turkey with the caption, "Don't ask the Sith to carve the turkey."
Or that picture of the Ewoks getting ready to roast Han Solo in ROTJ with the caption: "What are you having for dinner." (Surely, they've already done that before.)
Or Anakin and Padme, sitting across the table from each other in ATOC, with Anakin floating fruit to Padme with the caption: "Share the holiday with your family."
Decorating: all I can think of is using the action figures to spice up the table centerpiece -- y'know the one with the corn and little squashes. Maybe a star cruiser or two. Jedi do tend to wear fall colors at least.
Pictures from charitable events would be good; I just don't have any. There aren't a lot of activities here and the only costumed Halloween thing that the 501st was going to do got cancelled by the weather. Was anyone doing anything this past Halloween that would work?
Food: themed recipes make me cringe. It's always just the same old food with a cheesy name. I was just wondering, has Lucasfilm ever licensed anything for cooking, like a jello mold shaped like C3PO, or a cake pan shaped like Darth Vader's head? SW cookie cutters? They at least have mugs that would look good on a place setting.
Oh, and if anyone wants to try to make 'Sith' cake, just settle for dark chocolate. Do NOT EVER try to make black with food coloring (unless someone actually makes food coloring that is black to begin with, and I have never seen that). If you try to do it with the standard red, yellow, blue and green you will never get a true black and you will have to put in so much that you can taste the food coloring itself. Yeeech.

Mary did reply thanks for the posts above...I am only sorry we could not provide a little more...but ...as noted....Thanksgiving is a really tough holiday.... one doesn't decorate really... and food is pretty traditional.... Thanks to all those who participated....
