We did discuss an area for games, as there is one for fan-fic, but as we are not a gaming group. We closed the rpg forums for that reason.
There's no problem with having a few--- I enjoy them too, as you can see! But it's too much at once. We can have fun with 2 at a time (two here and two in the Cantina) and keep our focus on the costuming and other discussion.
No one is chastizing anyone.

Please note: my opinion follows. As always please just ignore me if I am off base (thanks) ============================================================ WHile we are not specifically a gaming group.....we are a community. Many members have formed friendships on the boards and use the games as a way to blow off some steam and interact in a social way. It seems to me that is a good thing for the overall morale and health of the TJA. I do agree that too many games going on at once can be a bit distracting..........
perhaps all the games could be moved to a seperate area (new forum) and locked. Then a select few could be unlocked for a time and a rotation could be set up. That would allow for the fun to continue and for the closed threads to still be viewed for the fun of reading and such. a "suggestion thread" could also be used as a way to collect new ideas to put into the rotation. ======================================= Thank you for your time. I shall crawl away now...........

I shall crawl away now........... That's exactly what we are setting out to do, Tenric. Nothing is going to be deleted. We can lock, unlock and rotate games right here. We just have to keep the amount of games going on at one time to a limit, that's all. Everything you said about the community, and blowing off steam, is right.

That's exactly what we planned to do. Keep two open and lock/archive the rest. We do have archives at the bottom of the boards for such purposes. And Leda did state that if a new game was to be started it is to be suggested and we can lock one and start a new one. We do have a suggestion and feedback forum at the top of the boards for everyone. And in the members section there is a suggestions thread. We do listen to our members and take suggestions for new forums. A few that I can think of are the Fan Fiction forum (which has nothing to do with costuming), the Saber Training forum (sort of relevant, but we are not a martial arts group), the Electronics forum (even though information on props can be found in abundance elsewhere). And we used to have an RP forum which was a breeding ground for trouble and we had to close it. And we have Movie Chat too. That was at members requests also. So was the Prayers and Meditation thread. Quite a few people did mind about the number of game threads going on and for quite a few months. That's why we're doing something about it. I like the games too and agree they are fun and healthy. If I have nothing else to say I can always post in Word Association or Random Thoughts (it's not a game but you know what I mean.) But we're not a gaming group. We're not shutting them all down, just asking that they be kept to a minimum.

Or is it that some of you guys are afarid we'll catch up on post counts.. That's what we are here for. To talk about costuming. We're a costuming club. Still, the busiest forum is the Earthen Tap Cafe. That's why we have it. To talk about other stuff. There are only so many types of brown fabric. I unerstand.... lol! Sometimes I have nothing to add also. It still doesn't make us a gaming group. Fan Fic probably doesn't belong here either. We did have some problems in there and considered locking it. But we know everyone likes it and decided to keep an eye on things. There are only so 'topic un-related' sections we can have.

our main focus is costuming, but yet at the same time we can have fun in other areas as well. I for one post alot in the fan fiction area as well as others that i know of....
