Yeah, the Venus transit a couple of years ago was awesome to see. It's one thing to see pictures, but seeing it with your own eyes... a planet other than our own passing in front of the sun... it's amazing. It really puts the solar system into a visual perspective.

Well it won't be clear for me... we even have some flood watches issued here in NJ. Lots of rain predicted.  so sad.

I got wrapped up in website building and forgot to look up at the appropriate time. I am a REALLY bad astronomer. Keep forgetting to look up.
Compared to us, the planets and stars are eternal. Who am I to peek in on their doings? To see their majesty? I'm just an idiot who thinks his lightsaber is real.

It was taken with at Meade 14" Schmidt-Cassegrain, at prime focus with a 10mm eyepiece with a glass solar filter stopped down to 4 inches
