Pine trees are very bad for fireplaces, lots of creosote is given off, clogs the flue.

Good news! My nephew graduated his Basic training in the Army yesterday!!
We are so proud of him!
He is now based in Fort Benning , Ga. untill July and then we will know if he is going over seas or not...God give him protection and his family too!

I ordered a book on Amazon, the Life of Luke Skywalker and I can't wait to read it...even tho it is kids book, from reading the books reviews adults like it too...I got 2 gift cards from doing surveys to pay for it, and I now have a pending $20 gift card coming up in a few weeks...I think I will get a Star Wars Empire Strikes back book...the one about the movies making...I think it is by Steve Sansweet... i also got The Life of Obi Wan Kenobi, The Rise and Fall of Darth Vader and the Star Wars Craft book all half price. ;D and paid partialy by gift cards!!! these gift cards are a great money saver for my budget and so is Amazon! I also got one of those giant At-At Walkers after saving aluminum can money for about 3 months and saving gift cards. ;D The thing is HUGE, and it weighs 13 pounds!!!!  I also got more done on my jedi belts and got the obi/belt done for my Anakin costume...All I need now is for someone to take a picture of me in it. DianaG |

Well, I've indulged my mid-life crisis. I'm 51 years old and the LA County Fire Museum sponsored a 'Engine and Squad 51 In Quarters' event and I went. They got a good turn out and it was fun. I'd post a picture, but I think the Carson City Doutreee business center is using a dialup here. Anyway, it was a nearly perfect 'Emergency!' vacation.

I'm heading to SC to visit my nephew this week, haven't seen him in ages, and then to, of all places- Atlanta! The annual gathering of my other family (aside from TJA) the Queen convention in the USA known as Breakthru!

I think the noodles were just that shape and it was noticed they kinda looked like the Falcon.

Congrats on the retirement, Kai! Cool party, too.
I passed my Security+ certification test today! Oooooooh, I am so relieved. It's a requirement that they added at work so I can keep using the same computer I've been using for the past 5 years to write programs.
I'm working on a costume for WorldCon next week and I had to stop that and study for this test for 3 days. I'm going back to beading and sewing now.
