Anakin vs Darth Maul

Okay we all know that one of the main reasons maul lost to obiwan was he got arrogant, right(just like a sith ;D) I think anakin and maul are around the same age and skill level(not counting anakin is the chosen one) so lets take out obiwan in the mustafar battle and insert Darth maul. Who do you think would win.(persnonally i think it would be a tie since they both lost because of arrogance...)

I assume you mean Anakin at his age in ROTS and Maul at his age in TPM. I'd say Anakin because he has more inner rage to let loose.

Yes but if you have ever read the comics and books maul had that same anger. The tattoos themselves were meant to cause pain and suffering not to mention he was left in a desert abandoned by his master(sidious) and when his master returned, sidious was nearly killed by maul until he revealed it washis final test to become a sith. And yes, thats what i meant with the ages.

I think Anakin would win. With the ease that he chopped down Count Dooku he should be able to handle Maul quite easily. Of course Dooku was pretty old... but I still think that Anakin would beat Maul.

But if we also remeber back darth maul took down Oui-gon quite easily. Almost as if he was playing with him.

Yes, but who would win in a fight between Anakin and Qui Gon? As wise as Qui Gon Jinn is, he is no match to Anakin when it comes to weilding a lightsaber, and I don't think Maul is either.

Hmmm... confusing this is. I would probably say Anakin. But only on the grounds that he had just come off of killing countless Jedi, and the Sepratists. He had so much anger to lash out and I beleive Sidious favored him more than Maul anyway. Of course we never really got to see what Sidious thought of Maul.

I think that he would have a hard time facing qui-gon though... he was the one who freed him as a boy.

I still find it odd that maul spoke only 3 times in the entire movie and it wasn't even the actors voice. A very mysterious sith he is...unknown is his true power...

However Qui Gonn's main fault was his style of combat.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lightsaber_combat this explains my theory. Definately an interesting battle Anakin and Maul would have.

that site is amazing. I found that when i was just scanning through old sith lords and on that site it tells you almost every jedi, sith, viehicle, alien spieces there is in the saga.

I also think him and maul would be evenly matched because there fighting styles are similiar. Both maul and anakin use fast movements, and easily blockable strikes though if not blocked it could be death on contact(maul stunning quigon and with a quick turn stabbing him;Anakin twisting dookus hands together and getting them both chopped off at once) Do you ever wonder though what would happen if maul contiuned his training and did not fight obiwan would he have overthrown palpatine or was maul just a distraction in his plan to strike fear in the jedi?

Dark Horse Comics did a Darth Vader vs Darth Maul Issue. It very cool. Maul was a clone of the original. At the end Vader defeats Maul, Maul asks him "What could you possibly hate enough to give you the power to defeat me?" Vader looks at the Dying Maul and says "Myself". very cool issue I highly recomend it , it was an issue of Star Wars Tales

Sidious never respected Darth Maul; in the novellisation of ROTS he refers to him as being nothing more than "a skilled animal". He was always meant to be a distraction; this is proven even by the fact that he's a Zabrak. Palpatine was very racist (hence the reason the seperatists were all aliens).

But I'm getting off track here...
