Phil Brown, best known for his role as Uncle Owen in Star Wars: A New Hope, passed away today at the age of 89. He had a long and varied career almost 60 years long. You can check out his accomplishments at IMDB.com, where you might be surprised to see how many other recognizable films he appeared in.

It's true, I know I've seen him in other things, but of course, I always will think of him as Uncle Owen, he's at one with the Force now, my thoughts go to his family.

Indeed....Uncle Owen he will always be... man.....another of the original cast is gone....

Ohhhh.....! I liked that fellow! Why is it the best actors keep dying???
Alas, no one lives forever. Someday, even JW and GL are going to go...I try not to think about that day.
