Hmmmmmmm, perhaps this should be more accurately stated.....
Code of a Jedi #1. A Jedi Is Sworn To Valour #2. His/her/its Heart Knows Only Virtue #3. His/her/its Blade Defends The Helpless #4. His/her/its Might Upholds The Weak #5 His/her/its Word Speaks Only Truth #6. His/her/its Roth Undoes The Wicked As Knights ofThe old Code This We Swear To Uphold The Will of The Force. Long Live The Jedi.
....to take in the whole range of genders and species. But what is the source for this code?
The will of the Force thing always throws me. What's that? Qui-Gon talked about it with Anakin, but I never get the impression that Qui-Gon ever makes any assumption on what that will is, except that it's the light side. I'm sure that Darth Sidius was following the will of the dark side of the Force as well.

Code of the Jedi, but not the Jedi Code:
There is no emotion; there is peace. There is no ignorance; there is knowledge. There is no passion; there is serenity. There is no death; there is the Force.

His/her/it............ lol! Sorry.......... the "it" part makes me laugh. Are there SW species that don't have genders? Seriously, I never thought about that before.

Sorry.......... the "it" part makes me laugh. Are there SW species that don't have genders? Seriously, I never thought about that before. Well, I do wonder about the large, plant-like Jedi master in the cartoon; I assume he's the same species as one of the cantina creatures in ANH. So, including the "it" option seems safer, though the version without any pronouns seems safest.

Then perhaps this would be appropriate: As a Jedi I am Sworn to Valor... My Heart Knows Only Virtue; My Blade Defends the Helpless; My Might Upholds the Weak; My Word Speaks Only the Truth; My Roth (sp?) Undoes the Wicked; As Knights ofThe old Code This We Swear To Uphold The Will of The Force. Long Live The Jedi. Doesn't Ki-Adi Mundi have two hearts? Sorry I couldn't resist.

It does to me too, sounds good
When i read both versions of the code, i was thinking "My" would be more personal. Then i read the latest revision.:-) it sounds far better. Now the one listing "There is..." I see this as a guidline not hard fast rules of life.

"My Roth (sp?) Undoes the Wicked;" do you mean "wrath"? as in "Forceful, often vindictive anger." There I go with the spelling again! I no longer even bother to pull out the actual book.... dictionary.reference.com/

Isn't the second version from the "I, Jedi" book? It looks familiar. I've never seen the first one before.
The first one could be written without most of the pronouns.
As a Jedi I am Sworn to Valor... Heart Knows Only Virtue; Blade Defends the Helpless; Might Upholds the Weak; Word Speaks Only the Truth; Wratth Undoes the Wicked; As Knights of The old Code This We Swear To Uphold The Will of The Force. Long Live The Jedi.
Yes, I think "roth" should be "wrath" except that wrath in general doesn't sound right for a Jedi, even if it's aimed at the wicked. Unless there was some intent to invent a word where roth is meant as the light side of the Force kind of wrath?
