Did anyone see the Galactic Unification announcement on the www.501st.com web page announcing that they would now be accepting Jedi as members? They've added a new announcement cbout the unification one coming out on April 1st. I think some people took it seriously, requiring the disclaimer.

After the run in I had with a bucket head this weekend, He was abusive to me. He was not “playing” he was serious about the Rebel Legion and TJA being “Losers”. The Manager of the Wal-Mart had to ask him to leave twice … I had a good time with the people who came to the “48 hours of the force” . I asked him for he operating ID but all he was tell me was Joe.

Hey Mon Jas, that just goes to show that those"bucketheads" will never topple the good in everyone..... i.e. ewoks throwing rocks at them in ROTJ. He just said that cause he knows deep down inside that we at the TJA are a force to be recogned with....pun intended.
The only thing those "bucketheads" are good for are a nice drum set on a ewok stick. LOL

[/glow] You should post a message about it on the local 501st board -- not about him being rude to you, but about the manager asking him to leave. I really think that's something that the people running the 501st will want to know about. And nobody says anything, nothing will happen. There are nice bucketheads out there and they'll take the wrap for what "Joe" did.

I've always wondered why anyone wants to be a stormie who can't shoot straight, when they could be a Jedi or a Wookiee. Or even a wookiee jedi. That would be the best. If only I had one of those furry suits...beats white pvc anyday.

Yes, I would post something about it, or send an e-mail to the head of 501st or what would be the local garrison there. My husband may play with callingme or a friend jedi scum or whatever, but he's playing. No one should be like that guy was with you. That's not cool, or being a good costumer. Someone needs to set him straight. For a while here in Virginia I had to fight to get any garrison commander here acnowlwdge the Rebel Legion and what was funny, he had a jedi costume, but would never join R.L. (before there was a TJA). Finally he admitted about us and I let anyone know that were all one doing costumes together. Being a stormtrooper doesn't automatically make one cool, not in my eyes, and one doesn't dare tussle with me, an old-time costumer since '73. My husband does a trooper as he has always gravitated to the dark side in Star Wars, while in other SciFi and fantasy he's always done the good side in costuming (Indiana Jones, Starfleet, Babylon 5 (think John Sheridan), Aragorn, and so forth). But it's all for fun and that's all it should be. No one should make another costumer uncomfortable, and so I would report it to someone, most likely the garrison commander of your area. JMD 'who get off her soapbox now'

Yes, there is definitely no excuse for that behaviour. Try to have him removed from the 501st immediately. That kind of attitude should not be allowed, no exceptions. [glow=red,2,300]

sigh....that is so unfortunate... Yes...there are some troublesome 501st... Yes...there are some troublesome RL
I know this first hand as I am a member of both in addition to TJA...
I spent Saturday's "48 Hours of the Force" in charge of a 501st detachment at our local Wal-Mart....and have done MANY outings with the Midwest Garrison...there are some extraordinary nice people in this group...we had a blast at the Wal-Mart......I had a great time with my fellow 501st members present...in addition to the Rebel Trooper and our own TJA member LiObi....we were "one unit" that day....the patrons, workers, and store personnell had a great time with us...we took well over 50 pictures the morning we were there....
... it is always sad when some jerk gives the rest of the group a bad name.....but...such is life....the "bad apples" always do tend to be the face we put on a group...and that is always unfortunate!

I have emailed the Garrison commander ... I know many in the 501, and have always gotten along with everyone. This guy being vocal in public just got under my skin.... fandom does not need dissention in the ranks.

You could have a Jedi and a wookie and people might not know you're Star Wars costumers... until the stormies show up! And it's great that we have so many awesome costumes to choose from! Remember, this is all for fun.

The funny thing last weekend was I was walking through Wal-Mart ... I was congratulated for my performance in "The Thorn", a passion play at a local church. I've never been in a passion play
