Since we are Jedi this may be a difficult topic for us to brooch but who would you choose as your favorite bad guy Sith Lord.
Lets for the sake of this thread keep it to film Sith only even though there are lots of evil Sith to choose from in EU.
I would be interested in who you would choose and why. Although we are not prone to hate we can still agree that if given half a chance we would cut down a Sith upon site, but it is still fun to study ones adversary and discuss their strengths and weaknesses.

Does Asajj Ventress count? She was actually designed for the film... for Episode II, the illustrations are in the art of Ep II book, but they went with Dooku instead. Then she ended up in the CN cartoon and the DH comics.
I like her because she has this unbridled, irrational haterd toward the Jedi... It's just this totally opposite from the attitude a Jedi would have, and in the end it becomes her undoing. As a Jedi Master said in one of the the graphic novels: "You are no Jedi girl... you are just hatred and bile given form!"
She's also a kick butt fighter, and the varieties of costumes she wears are awesome!

DARTH VADER, from 1st sight of him! I LOVE Darth Vader ;D, The 1st second on screen, I was like, "Now That's a VILLIAN!" Leda, I think there was something about A.V"s history in 1 of the new books I just read, but I've forgotten which one.

I would include Assaj Ventress since we don't know yet if she will appear in the next film and you are right she was developed as a character for the film. I agree too, she is cool..........my favorite Sith action figure too
My choice though is a toss between Darth Maul and Darth Sidious. Maul because unlike any other Sith he did not verbally taunt while fighting, he let his skill physically dominate. I was also hooked on his character when I read in the role playing book about his final test before becoming a Sith Lord. Very cool..........
Sidious though master minded the downfall of the entire Republic and the whole Jedi Order. He wasn't even discovered until the very end. Let us pray we never elect a real politician with his skill and deviousness. Of all the Sith Lords I would want to take him out the most even at the sacrifice of my own life. Vader really pulled through by destroying that creature. During ROTJ on opening day we were all waiting and watching to see if Vader would save Luke, when he turned and picked up the Emporer you could not hear the film at all for all the yells and cheers in the audience for the entire rest of the scene.
My question is why didn't the Jedi just launch a missile into Palpatine's office? Of course they just had to do things right and thought they could arrest a Master Sith Lord. Their downfall until the bitter end is doing things right. Kind of lends credence to Qui-Gon being the quintesential Jedi........maybe he would have just acted and launched a missile.......he will do what he must eh?

Darth Maul all the way. He's awesome. Plus it was nice seeing a Zabrak with a lightsabre.

Well truthfully my favorite is Darth Malak but since you said just ones from the movies I'll also say Darth Maul. When I saw him pull out that Double blade I knew that was going to be a great fight. And it was. ;D

Just kidding, Leda!!! Couldn't resist. ;D Was she a Sith or just Bile and Hatred? I like Darth maul best. He's just..... evil without a cause. No emotion except to kill Jedi. That's worse than Vader. At least Vader had feeling in him.

You have to agree with Xana a true villian would have no feelings or have no emotion though I do disagree on one thing he probably was driven by one emotion. !!!HATRED!!!

To be truly villianous a villian would have to have a conscience still and feelisn galore. Cool thing they showed with Anakin was not his ability to project negative feelings but to display frustration and resentment for NOT being able to express feelings. It really makes for an interesting Anti-Hero/Villian archetype.

The best villains are the ones who used to have emotions but have discarded them in favour of being either cold and calculating, or ticked-off and vengeful. Classic examples respectively are Hannibal Lecter and Darth Vader.

I would have to so Darth Sidious. He has control over everyone. He makes them do what he wants. He is the Master Sith Lord while the others are apprentices.
